Cozy Holiday Wishes with a New Challenge at Get Creative

First, I would like to let you know that I have had to step-down from all of my Design Team Posts as my eye issues have gotten worse. I have Ocular Myasthenia Gravis and I was in the ER last weekend due to issues and the pressure and pain are still there. It has been hard to do my projects, remark on posts even with having increased my font size to 150 percent but it still hurts to read and craft. It was with a heavy heart I needed to make the decision to step down at this time.

With that being said, here is my last and final post for Get Creative and I want to welcome to the new challenge at Get Creative!!! This is a Challenge Blog with this week's challenge theme - fantasy with the fabulous sponsor Nikki Burnette.

I fell in love with her mermaid stamp, Edeline and the whole time as I was coloring her and I couldn't decide what she should be card-wise. But after a consultation with the Stickles Fairy and a beautiful coordinating piece of paper from my stash, yes, you guessed it - she became a Christmas card!!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • card measures 5.5 x 7 inches using Recollections cardstock
  • background is from my stash
  • Edeline is colored with Copic R20, Prisma Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils, Whisper Markers, gel pen accents and of course Stickles
  • fussy cut part of my image and chalked a background on the remainder
  • sentiment, "Sending Cozy Holiday Wishes your way " had been from Create with TLC  Winter Club 2015 was chalked around the edges
  • lace beading trim from my stash with Darice satin edged organza ribbon and bow
  • sentiment, "The Magic of Christmas never ends and it's greatest of gifts are family and friends" had been from Create with TLC  Winter Club 2015 was chalked around the edges and mounted on scraps matching the front of card

I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to showcase your project on Get Creative Challenges and enter in the Challenge!!!!! I can't wait to see your creations!

I appreciate and love reading your comments . . is your comment the next one I read???

Celebrate Life Midway Reminder for Quirky Crafts Challenge

It's not too late to enter your project at  Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. I'm here with my midway project as a gentle reminder that the theme is "Celebrate" where you need to have the word "Celebrate" somewhere on you card or project.

With this all being said, I can't wait to show you my DT project with this cute little bear cross-stitching. Ok, those who know me really well, know that I want to break out in song with Kool and the Gang but first let me share with you my card!!!

For my project, I chose to use Digi Blessings at Stitchy Bear Sewing Mends the Soul. With my love of the "needle-arts" this became the purrfect image for me to use for my card.

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • card measures 5.5 x 7 inches with Recollections card stock and scraps for background
  • white scraps added as a border using Martha Stewart Eyelet Border Punch
  • image was colored using Copic R20, Prisma Colored Pencils, Whispers Markers,  and gel pen accents
  • ribbon is from my stash which was wrapped around the background and then tied into a bow
  • word "Celebrate" was faux stitched on the little sampler the bear is doing
  • sentiment, "Happy Birthday! Congratulations on being born" had been from Create with TLC chalked around the edges
  • "Made for You" silver heart charm is from Miriam's Crafting Supplies
  • heart buttons on the side are from my stash of buttons
  • Queen & Co. pearls were used for the pin heads
  • cupcake paper with EK cupcake border punch was used on the inside of my card with of course Stickles accents
  • sentiment, "If you lick the FROSTING off a cupcake, it becomes a MUFFIN And muffins are healthy! Celebrate today with a cupcake!" had been from Create with TLC was chalked around the edges, Stickle dots in the corners and mounted on a dark pink

I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to visit and enter your project at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog I can't wait to see your creations!

Rag Doll Made with Love Valentine for New Challenge at 613 Avenue Create

Welcome!!!!! It's a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create  where it's always anything goes with and optional twist: Today, January 17th, is the First Lady Michelle Obama's birthday! When the Design Team Leaders hear Michelle Obama, they think of style and elegance. Thus the optional twist is to create a stylish and elegant card or creation.

The fabulous sponsors are:
winner receives three (3) images
or one digital set of choice

Beccy's Place Digital Designs by Beccy Muir
My paper obsession began with scrapbooking in the later 1990's and has since evolved into card-making and digital drawing. There were a few years of decorative painting, teddy bear making and silk ribbon embroidery mixed in there too. I still dabble in each of those crafts (and many others) from time to time but I generally gravitate toward paper, which I find versatile and forgivinging.

I started "doodling" little designs for cards back in 2009, which is when I started  my blog and began sharing my images with other Cardies. From there I progressed to my very own online store selling digital drawings for cards and other paper craft projects. Some of my images have now been made into rubber stamps by the wonderful http://www.beccysplace.blogspot.com/ at Sparkle N Sprinkle. These days you can usually find me "hanging out over on my blog, www.beccysplace.blogspot.com

For my project, I fell in love with Beccy's Place, Rag Doll with Love, and just knew I wanted to make a Valentine's Day card for Lily. But the question, was how to make her "stylish and elegant". After a few choice words and several creative chats with Miss Kimberly Pate, we came up with as being Lily (who is 4 years old) loves glitter and of course is very stylish - what 4 year old doesn't love glitter and is stylish along with some bling - really now?? I had the Stickle Fairy come work her magic on my card along with pearls down the front of her dress and a button flower for her hat - rag doll "be styling"!!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • size A2 card with Recollections pink cardstock with scraps for the background where the hearts on the crown paper had Stickles added
  • Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Border punch with scraps added to the side - now, isn't that just stylish?
  • Ragdoll was colored using Copic R20, Prisma Colored Pencils, Whispers Markers, gel pen and Stickles accents
  • Queen & Co. white pearls added as the buttons on front of dress
  • button from my stash adorns her hat and of course more Stickles was added to the center
  • JoLee heart sticker on the bottom right corner
  • Darice & Co. Conversation Heart Puff Sticker
  • sentiment, "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck" had been from Create with TLC January/February 2015 Club was chalked around the edges mounted a Valentine paper scrap
