Things I Learned From 60's Music . . .

"Things I learned from 60's MUSIC
Time is on my side
You can't hurry love
God only knows
You can hear it through the grapevine
Money can't buy you love
We can work it out"

NOW, with all that being said - isn't Paulette's newest Learned from 60's Music isn't it the coolest and grooviest???? Brings back my high school years - ok, I've dated myself but let's "Twist and Shout" while I share with you my dance party . . . .

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • background was cut to 6 x 12 inches and scored in half with Recollection teal card stock
  • background is musical score sheet from DCWV The Heritage Stack
  • sentiment from Learned from the 60's was chalked around the edges with musical notes added
  • juke box was cut using Cricut Nifty Fifties Cartridge using nothing but scraps from my scrap drawers
  • image had been a freebie from Mayzy Art which was found at Outlawz Challenges
  • sentiment, "Hear you are old enough to remember bell bottoms and love beads . . . Well, Hippie, Hippie Birthday!", had been Create with TLC  which has rounded corners and chalked around the edges and mounted on matching background paper from the front of my card

Well, "Build me up Buttercup" as I love reading your comments . . is your comment the next one I read or will I have "The Sounds of Silence??? Well, me and my bell bottoms are outta here - peace . . . .

Much love, hugs, and friendship

Polka Dot Polka Blog Hop

if you're here for Garfield and Odie, I'm thrilled but would love for you to take a moment or two to see if you can see dots before your eyes!!!!

Umpa. Umpa. Umpa. We are celebrating national polka day but adding a twist. Polka is to music and to DOT so we have created things that have POLKA DOTS on them. How fun! Instead of making Polka music our talented crafters have made things with dots on them.

Start with Lorby's World and don't forget to leave a comment and become a follower of hers because she's giving away something or other. We know that she has great goodies to offer!

Here are my polka dots which became a card!!! Surprise Surprise!!! I love dress forms and thought a polka dot dress on a dress form, now how cute is that!!!!

  • My card was cut using Hot Pink Recollection card stock cut at 4.15 x 5.5 inches
  • The floral background was cut at w3.75 x 4.75-inches and yes, it was scraps!!!
  • Dress form is cut from black Recollection card stock at 4.25-inches using Cricut Nifty Fifties Cartridge
  • Dress under-layer is the same pink that was used for my card with a pink and white polka dot from my scraps
  • My dress looked boring and white pearls were added on the bodice
  • Sentiment was stamped on white cardstock scraps “You’re simply the BEST!” which I was on the phone with a friend and started putting pink dots on the white. I also used a decorative corner punch and inked with the same shade of pink that the sentiment was stamped.
  • Pink pearls were then added on the corners of my sentiment and on the bottom right corner of my card as it looked lonely!

Thank you for stopping by and please continue on to Lissa Marie
In case you get caught up with the polka music or the polka dots, I wanted to leave with you the FINAL LINE UP...

God Bless and thank you for stopping by

Now on to my third and final project for Barbara's birthday project:

This is a combination of itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini and soaking up the rays to relax playing beach blanket bingo with the waves just rolling in!!!

With that being said, here's the recipe

the bikini along with the sand was cut from Nifty Fifties
the sun, waves, palm tree and the word "relax" with the beach chair cut from Life's a Beach
the paper from the card was cut from a fabulous package of papers from Pat Catan's which was one terrific bargain for about 30 pieces for $2.00!!!!
the balance of my papers were from my scrap bin

Now, granted, this body will never ever see a bikini again in this lifetime, but a girl can wish!!!!  There's always that beach chair in the sand wishing for that coconut drink brought by the cabana boy!!!! A girl can always dream!

Hope you had a great birthday Barbara and I thank all of you attending our three (3) day hop. I had a great time making these projects and hope you enjoyed!!!

God Bless
Hugs and Love
