Saluting Our Veterans Today

God Bless and thank our Veterans. Today is Veteran's Day in the United States and Remembrance Day for our Canadian Friends. My granddad (World War 1 Pilot), my Pap (World War 1 Dough Boy), my daddy, both of my brothers (Steve and Wayne), my two uncles (Don and Harry), my nephew (Wayne), my cousin (Keith), two of my ex-husbands, my ex-mother-in-law along with several of my friends have all served in various branches of the service. Create with TLC offered this beautiful freebie, Pledge Allegiance Printable, and I knew that I just had to make this as a card. This card was sent to a friend of mine that I had worked with at Verizon Wireless. Mike has a beautiful wife and three (3) adorable daughters but he's had a rough life and has a good many health issues. He has served our country proudly, and I think he needs to be celebrated. RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• red Recollection card stock was cut for a size A2 card 
• background is Reminisce Celebration Stars which was a super paper to use as the one side is the navy/white stars and the other side is the red/white stars which I used for my sentiment
• "I Pledge Allegiance" was chalked around 2 of the edges with red while the other 2 edges were chalked with blue
• Wright Designer Classics American Flag ribbon is on the right side with a bow on the bottom right corner
• sentiment, "Thank you Two Simple Words", had previously been a freebie from Create with TLC which was chalked around the edges with rounded corners and mounted on a scraps from the front of my card with a "flag" on the left side 

God Bless our Veterans and in Memory of my Daddy who served in the Air Corp.  What a handsome man . . .

At the Allegheny County Airport the summer before he passed, they had the plane that daddy was a bombardier.  I took him to see the plane and he recanted stories of his service. This picture was taken at that time:
