P is for Pansy and Friendship

Many many many years ago, I was quite active in Eastern Star and I had made yellow gingham table cloths with a pansy on the one corner. At that time, I had discovered that pansies are a sign of friendship as a pansy has a "tongue" but it doesn't "tattle" thus inspired these 2 pages for my journal with pansies from Aurora Wings and Create with TLC.

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• background is yellow gingham from Recollection card stock
• Martha Stewart Eyelet Border punch was used to trim the one edge with purple ribbon
• "P" was cut using Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 along with the one corner
• Aurora Wings pansy corner was colored using Whispers Markers with Stickles and gel pen accents
• "Stop and Smell the Flowers" are from Create with TLC and Pansy seed packet had been previous freebies were colored with Whispers Markers with Stickles and gel pen accents
• hand-written sentiment with type-written symbolism of pansies

As we all know how much I love Alice in Wonderland. Granted, I make a lot of items using the Mad Hatter but who doesn't love love love the Queen of Hearts especially with her famous line, "Off with their heads!!!". I loved Rick St. Dennis Q of H which was a lot of fun to make into a card to send to a special friend to just let her know how much I admire her and her friendship. 

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• black Recollection card stock for 5 x 7 inch card and 7 Gypsies Trousseau 8 x 8 for background - crazy story is my friend, Rosie, gave me a stack of 5 x 7 inch envelopes and thus decided to start making some 5 x 7 inch cards
• Q of H was colored using Whisper Strokes and Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen and Darice Glossy Accents accents puff-dotted on the card
• border was cut using Martha Stewart Eyelet Border Punch
• wrought iron image was cut using Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge using black Recollection cartridge and Darice Heart Gem Stone Accents 
• Queen & Co. pearls for the center of the little red flowers which I had gotten from Edwina Brown - I just love these little flowers!!!
• sentiment, "your unique talent is being Beautiful inside and out" had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC chalked around the edges with scraps for the background  

I haven't been creating as much lately as I haven't been feeling well which makes it difficult to sit let alone feel creative. I'm having surgery on Thursday and hoping this solves the issue.

For my first project, I chose Nocturna - I just loved her as I thought she almost had a Mardi Gras Halloween feeling - how's that for a combination?

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• size A2 card using purple Recollection cardstock with DCWV The Animal Stack as my background
• Nocturna was colored using Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen accents, fussy cut and puff-dotted onto the card
• globe in her hand is accented with Stickles
• wrought iron fence was cut using Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge
• sentiment, "Beware the witching hour" and inside sentiment, "GOULISH good wishes" both had been from Create with TLC Halloween Club for 2014 - both had been chalked around the edges

I decided to create two (2) projects to inspire you today using Poppy Seed Graphics Earth Spirit:

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• size A2 card using brown Recollection cardstock with DCWV The Animal Stack as my background
• Earth Spirit was colored using Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen and Stickles accents and fussy cut 
• inside sentiment, "You make the world a better place." had been a freebie from Create with TLC chalked around the edges and rounding the corners

• rust Recollection card stock for the base with the background being Recollections Floral Squares - there are six (6) different floral squares
• Sunflower Pixie was colored using Whisper Strokes and Spectrum Noir Markers with gel pen accents, fussy cut around the edges
• Darice sunflower puff stickers were used to decorate the card
• sentiment, "Just saying HELLO" had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC which I thought was the purrfect sentiment 

• Queen & Co. gold pearls on Sunflower Pixie's toes
• Michael's gem swirl for butterfly movement
• Martha Stewart Eyelet Border punch using brown polka dot on the left side

Fairy Flower Scent RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• lime green Recollection card stock for the base with the background being scraps from a 6x6 swap
• Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge gate was separated for the front of the card as a backdrop for my fair with the piece cut from it on the inside framing sentiment
• Fairy was colored using Whisper Strokes and Spectrum Noir Markers with gel pen and Stickle accents, fussy cut around the edges

• Martha Stewart Eyelet Border punch using lime green polka dot on the right side
• sentiment, "Spring come to Life" is from Create with TLC Spring Vintage Image Transfer and Word Art Set which was chalked around the rounded edges and mounted on  scraps from the front

Dear Birdies . . .

One of the newest sets at Create with TLC is Dear Nature Letters which has quite a few cute sentiments along with a cute image of birds in a tree. Today, I decided to play with a "window" theme and created this card with "Dear Birdies: Thank you for singing to me every morning."

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• card is a size A card with a 4-inch square cut out of the center using blue Recollection card stock
• Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 frame was cut at 4-inches
• foil bird and branch with flourish from K&Co Susan Winget Feather and Butterflies
• frosted Recollection cut at 4 x 5 inches and put on left side of inside of card to cover the window frame
• DCWV Four Seasons was cut 4 x 5.25 inches on the right side of the inside of the card
• Create with TLC Vintage Good Night Birds had been given as a freebie and was colored with Spectrum Noir, and Prisma Markers with gel pen accents and chalked around the edges
• Create with TLC, sentiment was chalked around the edges
• grey Queen & Co pearls were put on the rounded corners of the outside of the card to finish

I Wish for you Hugs when spirits sag . . .

On Lacy Sunshine on Facebook, a challenge along with a free digital image was offered. Of course, I took the gauntlet and here's my version of Octavia Melancholoy offering hugs for a very special friend with a great deal of issues going on in her life. I'm asking for unspoken prayers for her.

RECIPE:

• card is a 6 x 6 inch card using DCWV Le Tres Chic 
• backgrounds were cut 5.75 inch using Recollections Fashionable Chic and 5.5 inch from my fabulous scraps
• image was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers with gel accents and then rounding the corners and chalking the edges
• sentiment, "I wish for you HUGS when spirits sag", was a freebie from Create with TLC with rounding the corners and chalking the edges
• gate was cut using Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge, Lace 1 found on page 50 cut to 5.5 inches using a fall leaf print which I found in my stash - I think it gives the look of betina 
• brown pearls were added to the gate and yellow pearls for the center of the flowers on her hat from Queen & Co.
• for some odd reason, I'm into adding feathers to hats which my friend, Kimberly Pate, had sent me a big ziploc baggie with feathers
• paper roses are from Michael's Dollar bin

I was in a peach and pastel mode when coloring her and really like how it turned out and hope you do too!!!

I looked up "remarkable" in the dictionary . . . .

I'm still at the cabin. My boyfriend has a cabin in Pymatuning. I've learned how to fish, somewhat,caught a couple along with lots of seaweed and lily pads. Today, it's raining with some thunder and lightning - thus no fishing!!! I thought I would share another card with you today.

Create with TLC has a new set called In the Dictionary Word Art which inspired me to make a few cards one of which I'm sharing with you today:

RECIPE:

• card was cut 6 x 12 inches using card stock which was then folded in half using Martha Stewart Score Board (what would I ever do without that in my life???)
• first background paper was cut 5.75 x 5.75 inches from my scraps with the second paper of roses was cut 5.5 x 5.5 inches. 
• Create with TLC Garden Girl with Hat Vintage, was from one of  Create with TLC A Vintage Collection that she offers from time to time. She was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and gel pens and chalked around the edges
• "I looked up "remarkable" in the dictionary and there you were" was chalked around the edges
• Butterfly is from Darice and is 3-dimensional
• fence was cut from Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge, which I think has become one of my new favorite go-to-cartridges which was only glued on the one side that you can open the garden gate

Just to show you that it wasn't a fish tale, this is me and my big catch - expect to see some scrapbook pages in my blog's future!!!!

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Bob's Aunt and Uncle just celebrated their 50th Anniversary!!! What a milestone! As for me, I have issues with being married beyond 7 years for some odd reason. Ok, there are reasons but this is not the time or the place. This is the time to celebrate his aunt and uncle for which I created a 50th Anniversary card with a little help from Create with TLC, Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge, and an internet search for an appropriate verse for the inside!

RECIPE:

• card was cut 6 x 12 inches using DCWV Le Creme which was then folded in half using Martha Stewart Score Board (what would I ever do without that in my life???)
• background paper was from DCWV Royal Garden and cut 5.5 x 5.5 inches 
• Cricut Ornamental Iron 2 Cartridge page 53 Lace 1 was cut 2.5 inches using Black Recollections with Lace 1 Shadow using Ivory Recollections 
• 50 was cut using Cricut Ornament Iron 2 Cartridge cut at 1 inch
• Darice metallic gold ribbon was added and tied in a bow
• sentiment, There's no limit to how much joy you are wished today, was chalked around the edges 
• Queen & Co Sunflower Pearls were added
• inside sentiment was found on the internet, author anonymous, was cut, chalked, and placed on a pieces of 5 x 5 inch DCWV Royal Garden

I have always said that one day, I would like to try the cards that are suggested in the front of the Cricut Cartridge Manuals. WELL, this idea was from that very concept!!!! Hope you enjoy!
