It's 5's at Anything But a Card

With there being 5 Sunday's in the month of November, Anything But a Card's new challenge is 5's - this means to create anything but a card with 5's whether it be 5 buttons on a tag, 5 tags, 5 pearls .... ok, you get the idea!
My inspiration for my project for this challenge is two things - I am in a Christmas Tag swap and need to make 5 tags for each of my friends AND you know how to purchase a Cricut Cartridge because you just know you can't live without it - well, this is the case with Cricut Very Merry Christmas Tags Cartridge which makes the ideal vehicle for this challenge ~

Recipe and Supplies:
  • dark teal Recollection cardstock for the top using Cricut Very Merry Christmas Tags Cartridge cut at 3.25 inches
  • turquoise Recollection cardstock for the bottom layer
  • the snowflake which was cut from the dark teal on the front, I hated to see it go to waste and got creative and glued this to the back of my tag

Now, what makes this interesting is I have created not only a gift tag from my Christmas Tag Swap BUT my Design Team Project for Anything But a Card with an added bonus - The Scrapbook Blessings Club is joining forces with Honeybearz Designs for the 12 Days of Tag which begins on Monday, November 24th. For Day 1, your tag is to have a decorative front which I used my Cricut Cartridge to create a decorative front. Come back to see what I do for Day 2.

Thanks for stopping by today and can't wait to see your projects for Anything But a Card Anything Goes as long as it's not a card!!!!

I appreciate and love reading your comments . . is your comment the next one I read???

Suzy Bee's Blooming Challenge Blog Challenge #56 - Anything Goes with Optional Twist - New Home

This week at Suzy Bee's Blooming Challenge Blog our wonderful sponsor is The Stamping Boutique!!!! Of course it's Anything Goes but this week with an optional twist - New Home!!!

Sasha and her family has just moved complete with their 2 bunnies . . . thus my bizarre "new home" card for them using The Stamping Boutique Alice in Wonderland the Mad Hatter. Now, for those who know me, know of my warped sense of humor and all I could think of was Alice in Wonderland with Alice falling in the rabbit hole . . . .

  • lilac Recollection card stock was cut 11 x 4.25 inches for my easel card following the tutorial on Splitcoasters
  • backgrounds are from my scraps
  • Mad Hatter was colored with Spectrum NoirMarkers, Whisper Strokes Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen accents, fussy cut, chalked around the edges, and puff dotted on my card
  • stick pin in the Mad Hatter's hat are beads from my stash and key charm from Miriam's Crafting Supplies with an added feather in his cap as I feel that the Mad Hatter is quite flamboyant!!

  • sentiment, "Today is full of possibilities" which had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC was mounted on the bottom of my easel card matching the papers used with the Mad Hatter
  • rabbit was a button from my button stash
  • pocket watch is a charm also from Miriam's Crafting Supplies

I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to showcase your project on Susy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge Blog this week to enter in the Challenge!!! It's anything goes with no size restrictions with the only restriction of that being your imagination . . . . let your imagination run wild!!!! I can't wait to see your creations!

I appreciate and love reading your comments . . is your comment the next one I read???

Eleanor and Pickles Starting the Stuffing Early for Thanksgiving!

This is my favorite time of the year - Thanksgiving. It brings back fond memories of my Thanksgivings with my grandparents. Gram always made all holidays special but to me Thanksgiving was always the best. I love to cook Thanksgiving dinner even if it's just Bob and I because the aroma of the turkey and the pies brings all the memories rushing back in and I channel my Grandmother in the kitchen as she was the best cook ever!!!

This card began with the sentiment, "Let the Stuffing Begin", had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC which reminded me of the great dishes and all the stuffing that went with it!!!! The card then took a life of it's own and it went from there! I loved Lacy Sunshine Eleanor and Pickles Autumn Harvest and thought they made the purrfect match!!!

  • rust Recollection card stock was cut for 4.25 x 11 which was folded in half for a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card
  • background is DCWV Harvest Stack
  • Eleanor and Pickles were colored using Whisper Strokes Markers and then chalked around the edges
  • "Let the Stuffing Begin" had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC and was given a decorative corner punch and chalked around the edges with scraps for the background
  • turkey button is from my button TINS!!!!
  • corn is jolee's boutique for Fall Harvest
  • and of course feathers in Eleanor and Pickles' headdresses
Thanksgiving Blessings my friends. I do appreciate you stopping by to visit with me and I appreciate and love reading each and every comment . . is your comment the next one I read???
