If you’ve arrived from Jennifer you are in the right place. If you just dropped by my blog today, we don’t want you to miss not one project. Go to the beginning and visit Christel, our birthday gal, at http://onescrappinsista.blogspot.com to start from the beginning and don't forget to give Christel some Birthday Bloggie Love!
For Christel's birthday card and project today, I used this adorable owl I got in a swap made by Jenny from Crazy About Cricut. Now, this owl was adorable to begin with but the color just wasn't right as Christel's favorite colors are purple, red, and turquoise. I got a purple metallic marker and colored the navy the purple and added a sparkle with my white gel pen in the eyes. I free-styled some branches for the tree to perch the cute owl with adding a bit of color by shading with a darker brown and black. Another good friend of mine, Michelle Ferris, thought quilling would be a great recovery project for me and I practiced and did my first quilling for the few leaves and purple flower buds. The quilling may not be wonderful but I tried and liked the colors on the project. I then cut my letters for the wording using my E2 built-in Alphabet cartridge. I always keep my Xyron beside my Cricut for such small things as the lettering to put in there immediately after cutting sew that I don't lose those little things! I am also going to post this card in a challenge for Tacky Tuesday's as the challenge this month is not only an owl but the word "HOO"! It's a purrrrfect card not ony for Christel but for the challenge!!!!
