It's a Brand New Challenge Team with My Whimsical Little World's First Challenge!!!!!

It's a brand new challenge blog at My Whimsical Little World!!!!!!! The exciting news is I am part of this new Design Team with my project being a lay-out for my adorable 4-year old granddaughter, Miss Lily's Dance Recital which was on the 20th of June!!!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• background Stamping Station Dance Text with www.foundationscoordinations.com (purple), pink Recollection as mats
• Ballerina was colored with Whisper Strokes Markers and Prisma Colored Pencils, fussy cut around the edges, puff-dotted onto background with Stickles accents
• split program and used cover on first page with Lily's number (Boogies Shoes) hi-lighted as her number

Welcome Lucas Wade New Baby Card for Creative Ladybirds Challenge Blog

It's a new month which means it's a new challenge at Creative Ladybirds Creations 
where it's always "anything goes" with some fabulous sponsors

I normally get over-zealous and create two (2) projects but the month of June was one bad month where my boyfriend had surgery and then the following week, I had to go into the hospital for surgery!!!! 

Now, on a much brighter note, my beautiful step-daughter, Jean, gave birth on June 12th at 8:08 AM to a beautiful healthy baby boy which makes me the very proud grandmother of 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters ages 10 and under!!!!!

Say hello to Lucas Wade weighing in at a super healthy birth weight of 9 pounds 6 ounces and 22.5 inches long!!!!

 My card using Ikes Art New Baby was made just for this occasion to present along with but of course, a quilt for my new grandson! 

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:

• size A2 card using Recollection cardstock and background papers are from my "stash" 
• New Baby was colored using Copic Markers fussy cut around the edges, gel pen accents and puff-dotted onto my card 
• blue gingham ribbon wrapped around the one layer of background and tied in a bow with a blue diaper pin
• spelled out his name with alphabet beads reminiscent of the baby bracelets with our name when we were born
• sentiment, "May the laughter and cries of your New baby be music to your ears" was from June Mega Club from Create with TLC mounted on scrap papers and chalked around the edges with rounded corners 

On a final note . . .  check out my little frog quilt for Lucas where when I was doing the machine quilting, I even made hearts and spelled out his name in the quilting:

OK, show of hands . . . . how many of you, my dear friends, have heard of Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge Blog????? With the 4th of July this weekend, one of my favorite songs is one by Lee Greenwood which brings back many fond memories - "God Bless the USA" which I kept humming and singing while I was creating my calendar! One of my memories is I had been a Girl Scout Leader and Trainer when my daughter was little. Our troup had been selected to be part of singing this song as a tribute for a ceremony at Girl Scout Camp with them singing in front of a bonfire . . . . everytime I hear this song, it brings back that great memory for me!
