One Smile Begins a Friendship!!

Tiddly Inks is having a Design Team Call and let me tell you how excited I am and keeping my eyes and fingers crossed as I have decided to enter to hopefully become one of their newest and greatest Design Team Members!!!!

NOW, the requirement is to enter a creation using one of your favorite images (tough call here as I love them all) but decided to use Catgirl as we all know what a cat-loving person I am being the proud owner of not one but three cats and a good many of my friends are cat lovers also!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • size A2 card using Recollection cardstock with DCWV The Girlhood Stack as background
  • Catgirl was colored using Prisma and Whisper Strokes Markers, Prisma Markers, and gel pen accents

  • of course, there are buttons involved from my fabulous stash of buttons!!! Since, I have three (3) cats, I had to add the additional cat button along with the cute "I heart Cats" that I also found in one of my button tins
TIP: how to get rid of those nasty shanks they put on the back of buttons that they lie flat on your cards is to use a toe nail clipper that cuts them off and trims them flat (at first, I was using one laying around the house and then I took the plunge and splurged and got one at the Dollar Tree - great investment!!!)
  • sentiment, "One Smile begins a friendship" as this will make a purrfect card to send one of my dear friends is from a previous club from Create with TLC is chalked around the edges
  • ribbon from Offray (complete with pawprints of course) was wrapped around the card and tied into a bow
  • sentiment, "Life is better with friends" is also from a previous club from Create with TLC which was chalked around the edges and mounted on matching paper that was used from the front -

I know that I have said this many times and its not only because I am a member of her fabulous Design Team BUT I love using Create with TLC sentiments and belonging to her clubs as you always gets great sentiments that are purrfect for any occasion to make a card plus great images.

NOW, wish me luck on my entering to be one of the new Tiddly Inks Design Team Members!!!!!! I sew want to become one and be using their images and they are all simply adorable!!!!

I appreciate and love reading your comments - is your comment the next one I read??? If you have any questions, you can contact me at hercraftiness@gmail.com.

Lily's one friend has just lost her first tooth and my daughter asked for a Tooth Fairy Pillow for Lily as who knows when she will lose her first tooth . . . .

  • image has rounded corners and chalked around the edges
  • Darice organza with satin edged ribbon tied in a bow with a heart-shaped button and cup with spoon button are from my stash

Congratulations Graduates

I'm a crafter of all sorts; but master of none as I do dabble - for today's post, I wanted to share with you a few bears that I had made for a dear friend from swimming and senior dance class, Kathy, who had purchased bears from Carol Wright and asked if I could personalize for two of her grandchildren that had graduated from High School this year -

this is what I started with:
Musical Graduation Bear
. . . and this my friends is the transformation with the personalization :

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • original bears purchased from Carol Wright
  • bears are with school colors - black and gold for Thomas Jefferson Senior High School for Johnathan and purple and white for Baldwin Senior High School for Courtney
  • black and purple Casa Satin purchased at JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts using pattern from original bear for mortar board and gift sack
  • bears play "Pomp and Circumstance March" with musical button inside pouch
  • pouch was embroidered using my Brother Embroidery Machine with gold rayon thread for Johnathan's bear and white rayon thread for Courtney's bear
  • buttons and tassels in coordinating colors were added to mortar boards

I absolutely love the cute soft cuddly bears that were purchased with just minor renovations and hope you agree. Just goes to show how you can personalize purchases to make them your own!!!

and to all the graduates from the Class of 2016:
