At the Lake Lay-Out Page 1

Greetings and salutations my friends. Today, I want to showcase the start of a lay-out for a friend of mine for Christmas.

When I saw At the Lake found at Designs by Cloud 9, I knew exactly what I wanted to do and basically how I wanted to create this lay-out.

My friend has a cabin at Pymatuning which is found in Linesville, PA or Espyville, PA depending on how you want to look at it. There are found memories of many years ago when I had spent time there “fishin” and enjoying his cooking on the fire.

Today, I am showing you the cabin ~ hope you enjoy!

RECIPE:
  • At the Lake by Designs on Cloud 9
  • Plaid paper background by Paper Pizazz
  • Paper mats are Designs by Cloud 9 Photo Mat Fun
  • Other mat was punched with ek border punch
  • All edges were inked
  • Papers are a combination of Recollections and scraps
Come back tomorrow as there will be some unusual holidays which will be celebrated by card for December!

Joe Cool Blog Hop

Welcome to Joe Cool at the Water Fountain. Can't you just picture him lowering his glasses and checking out who is walking by?? Snoopy has many characters but today, we are showing our talents using Joe Cool whether he be at the water fountain, on campus, or just hangin'!
I'm the first stop for you today but my bus was running late and my picture didn't get posted right away!!!! If you got past Woodstock, then you have arrived at the right spot!!! Kudos!
For my project, I have broken the rules but then again, don't I always??? Well, instead of Joe Cool - I did Snoopy as the ACE Fly Pilot as I absolutely love him and with this time of the year, I was humming and thinking of the old adage Christmas carol, Snoopy vs the Red Baron. Since I like to give you my two for one specials upon occassion, my card is also for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose, Sketch # 9 of course with a twist of Lynne!!! Would you expect anything less?

RECIPE:

  • I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose Sketch #9

  • card was cut 6 x 12 and then scored in half using my Martha Stewart Score Board
  • background cut 5.75 x 5.75 using 8x8 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper "Vintage Airplanes" Black/White (just for the record, when you are running out of ink in your printer, isn't it amazing the colors you get???)
  • Snoopy is from a Mardenz paper piecing file
  • airplane was cut at 2.5 inches using Cricut Heritage Cartridge with a copper pearl on the propeller
  • white scallops were created using Make the Cut
  • sentiment is Cricut Lacey Labels Cartridge (one of my favorite cartridges!) and hand-written sentiment for a belated birthday for a dear friend's husband with my warped sense of humor
  • all edges were inked for dimension
Lynne has found something just for one lucky winner for commenting. Please leave your name along with a way to contact you.

Sorry, but I'm late for my next class and must send you on your way - just watch out for the hall monitor on your way to Kimberly to check her assignment and hopefully she followed directions or she will be reprimanded!!! (Just kidding!)

There is a wonderful group of talented ladies participating today just in case you get lost along the way:

Hanukkah Card

Greetings and salutations my friends. I'm sew glad you came to visit today as I have made a card outside my comfort zone. A dear friend, Jearise, has asked me to make a chalk inspired card for a challenge for the Design Team she is on with Chalk'N Stock

For my card, I used the digi, Hanukkah Collage,  from Create with TLC. I colored this with my gel pens, shaded with chalk along with chalking  my edges.

I will be using this card also for December Calendar Girls Blog which is Saturday, December 1, 2012. Hope you stop back and check out the unique card for December.

God Bless and thanks for stopping by today

Jessica's 21st Birthday Blog Hop

Oh let's all sing along and wish this wonderful and beautiful lady a very happy birthday....

Happy birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to Jessica...Happy Birthday day to you...Jessica would not want anyone to miss out on her birthday celebration so be sure to start at the beginning of this short but sweet blog hop at KtsAngels.blogspot.com.

Today is Jessica's 21st Birthday and I wanted to share with you a card/project that I sent her to wish her a happy birthday...

If you arrived from Jearise’s well wishes, then you are on the right path to the birthday party!!!

For my project, I used Make the Cut and created the number “21”. The next step was to make a shadow of my numbers to connect the two together. I then did a flip image, pushed the two images together that they touched and welded the two together that it became my card. Tah Dah!!!!! All edges were inked. On the inside, I wrote in the shape of the numbers just because I could! LOL!!!

Envelope was made by cutting a 9.5 x 9.5 inch piece of paper. Using my Martha Stewart Score Board, I scored at 3.75 inches using the little triangle piece. Cut the little triangle where the pieces met. Glued the two center pieces at the triangle just to hold in place after which I glued the bottom up to meet the center pieces. Cricut Lacey Labels Cartridge was used to make the place to put the address.

Now off to Camille to see what she has sent Jessica to wish her a beautiful and happy birthday...

Here’s the complete line-up in case you get lost along the way with all the confetti, balloons and streamers!!!

Now be sure to go back to KtsAngels.blogspot.com after the hop and leave a comment and be a follower. One lucky winner will get a goodies/loot bag...

I Double Dog Dare You Generations Blog Hop

Welcome to an inventive, creative group called "I Double Dog Dare You" This group is given a challenge each month to create a project in whatever medium they so desire to express the subject!!! This month, the group has been asked to create this .... It's November, time for all those family gatherings... time for family, time for Thanksgiving .... Time for Generations to be spending time together... Let's see your generations, family gatherings, family tree, --- and have been double-dog dared!!!!

This month, those taking the challenge are:

For my project today, I have yet, another one of my quilts to share with you. This quilt was made for a quilt challenge with given 4 pieces of fabric to create your "masterpiece". My masterpiece was created shortly after my daughter had gotten married and thought what a great idea but to create a "Generation" quilt. The quilt shows in faux picture frames with the pictures actually printed on fabric, my grandfather's parents' wedding picture, my grandparents' wedding picture, my parents' wedding picture and my daughter and her husband's wedding picture. To take this a bit further the pearls are from a broken strand found in my mother's jewelry box, the doily is one that my grandmother had crocheted, the roses were embroidered with my embroidery sewing machine but the leaves were left from the flowers from my daughter's wedding.

Sorry for the wrinkles, but with life all wrinkles with age - Ok, these wrinkles were from my recent move as this was folded and not rolled and with the photos, I am unable to press it!!!

Your next stop along the Generation gap is Kimberly. We hope you enjoyed our challenge and perhaps, you too would love to be "double dog dared"

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose Tutorial November 19, 2012

Welcome - I'm sew delighted you came to visit today as I have a card which I have created using paper from Tsunami Rose.

I just want to say that one of the wonderful aspects of being part of the Tsunami Rose Design Team are the sneak peaks we get from all of Daisy's marvelous designs. Beginning November 1, 2012, Tsunami Rose Designs will begin selling the first ever, Life Abloom Printable Journal. This is one stunning design you will not want to miss. When you purchase a printable from the Tsunami Rose Designs Shop, you are purchasing a high-quality digital image that is printable on any type of printer. What is really superb, once you purchase the design you and use it as many times as your desire. I promise, the Life Abloom Journal Kit is one design you will not want to miss. To add to the fun, the first 20 people to purchase the journal will get an additional free $5 to spend in the Tsunami Rose Design Shop.

First, I must tell you that my card making style could be considered Funky Shabby Chic ... I don't usually follow the rules and always add my own twist!!!

I was asked to use a paper in her store called Bingo Grunge and my design went from there. As a rule, when I don't have a sketch, I go rummaging through my papers, embellishments and find things that "talk" to me and create from there ...

  • DCWV LaCreme stack was cut 6 x 12 inches and then using Martha Stewart Score Board was folded in half
  • Background paper is Graphic 45 Le' Romantique Collection Enamored Embrace which found a package of 25 sheets of this paper at Tuesday Morning for $3.25 was cut at 5.75 x 5.75 inches and edges were inked
  • Accent 2 from Cricut Heritage Cartridge was cut at 4.5 inches from the "Bingo" area of the paper while the roses were fussy cut and both were inked

  • Puff-dots were added behind the floral motifs which were then layered on my card

  • Brown metallic ribbon was tied in a bow with an under piece placed about 1/2 inch from the edge of my card
  • There was no sentiment added to this card as I  thought I would use this as  a note card
I encourage you to visit and check out her sketches by joining her challenge and/or visiting her Facebook group! You can also visit her on I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose and become a follower. You will become addicted and rise to the challenge!!!

Her Craft Kre8tions Thankful Blog Hop

Today is less than a week away from Thanksgiving and it is a time for reflection and a time to be "thankful" whether it be for where you are today, where you've been, or where you're going! Today, Her Craft Kre8tions is reflecting on Thankful!!!

Our brilliant designers have been given this assignment with only a stipulation as to not have a card but to depict something they are thankful for! Easy peasy, right???? OK, maybe not . . . but sit back a spell, reflect on your own thankfulness while you check out this fabulous line-up:

For my project, I am using two (2) Little Scraps of Heaven’s designs to create a Thanks Pocket. What is a “Thanks” pocket you ask … well, it can be whatever your imagination can dream – my “thanks” pocket is to list things we are thankful for and to pass it around the dining room table. Eventually this will be incorporated into a scrapbook page, but now it is a “pocket”. I do want to add craft sticks behind the paper sticks for stability but at the present moment they are lost in the rubble.....

Recipe:
  • Pocket was cut using DCWV Gathering Stack
  • Black Recollections was used for the lettering, number background and eyes and nose of bear
  • Brown Paper Sack Recollections was used for the sticks and bear
  • Little Scraps of Heaven Thanks Pocket which was last week's freebie
  • Little Scraps of Heaven Blessed Bear

There will be a special gift awarded to one lucky recipient who remarks along the way with what they are thankful for this season.

Your next stop along the way is Kimberly.  I wish for you and yours to have a blessed holiday and let us show our Thanks.

Thanksgiving Blessings to All!
Much Love, Hugs, and Friendship,
Lynne

I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose .. Oldie but Goodie from October

Welcome - I'm sew delighted you came to see my interpretations of I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose with Sketch #15 from October 2012. I loved this card and sketch SEW VERY MUCH and forgot to post it - shame shame on me!!!!

My inspiration was Sketch #15 for October 24th, with of course, a twist of Lynne!  What makes working with Daisy's sketches is that you can use the elements in your fashion as there are no set rules.

I just want to say that one of the wonderful aspects of being part of the Tsunami Rose Design Team are the sneak peaks we get from all of Daisy's marvelous designs. • There were 2 sentiments used, "happy birthday" and "Celebrate"
  • My card was cut 6 x 12 - inches and then folded in half using my Martha Stewart Score Board with DCWV LaCreme Cardstock
  • My background paper was cut 5.75 x 5.75 inches paper using Recollections Fashionably Chic
  • Flags were cut using Make the Cut
  • The adorable girl stirring is 8 x 8 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper - "Hand Mixer Girl" where I fussy-cut (quilting term, I guess) the piece to fit inside my Little Scraps of Heaven Scalloped Shapes Pattern Set - Square which is one of my favorite elements to add to cards
  • Martha Stewart Eyelet border punch was used on the right side
  • Added bling is the little vintage silver mixer charm which was tied on with baker's twine
  • All my edges were inked

Tutorial on Designing a Card as Project Guest Designer for Tsunami Rose

If you happened to be visiting for the Family Blog Hop, take an extra sip of coffee, tea, or brandy and check out my project today for I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose Project Design Team. If you're off in a hurry, please click here for the direct link for Family but hope you have the chance to stop back and visit when you have some more time!!!!

Welcome - I'm sew delighted you came to visit today as I have a card which I have created using paper and elements from Tsunami Rose.

To add to the fun, the first 20 people to purchase the journal will get an additional free $5 to spend in the Tsunami Rose Design Shop.

First, I must tell you that my card making style could be considered Funky Shabby Chic ... I don't usually follow the rules and always add my own twist!!!

I was asked to use a paper in her store called planks and my design went from there. As a rule, when I don't have a sketch, I go rummaging through my papers, embellishments and find things that "talk" to me and create from there ...

  • The sentiment used on my card is a scripture from the Bible, "A sweet friendship refreshes the soul!" Proverbs 17:9. The sentiment was placed onto a label cut at 2.25-inches using my Cricut Lacey Labels Cartridge!!! Now, I must tell you that this cartridge is my "must go-to" for almost all of my card-making adventures with the versatility and a phenomenal place to stick that sentiment!!! Some blue flowers with pearls added to the center were put on opposite corners. Sentiment was added to my card with puff dots for that added dimension!
  • My card was cut 6 x 12 - inches using a blue card stock from www.coredinationsFoundations.com and then used my Martha Stewart Score Board, folded my card in half. I then used a rounded corner punch to round my corners for a softer look
  • My background paper was cut 5.75 x 5.75 inches paper using 8.5 x 11 Vintage Digital Printable Scrapbook Paper - "Banner Planks" Blue which I also rounded the corners and then inked the edges with a royal blue
  • The fairy in the upper left corner was added and are 3 x 3 Printable Epherma "Fairies" which was also inked in blue. Now, it needed a little bit of sparkle where I added tiny little bling bling (techinical term) stones in her crown, pansies, and bottom of her wand where she touches the blue flowers with pearl centers added for magic!

  • My Martha Stewart Eyelet Border Punch was used and then added Ki Memories Checked ribbon to the one side and attached approximately 1-inch from edge of my card
  • Upper right corner is using "Vintage Flower Printables #1, the Forget-Me-Nots as I don't want my friend to forget me. Yellow pearls were added to the center for that extra "bling"! To finish my circle, I tied a white bow and attached to my card with puff dots!!!

I encourage you to visit and check out her sketches by joining her challenge and/or visiting her Facebook group! You can also visit her on I Love Sketches by Tsunami Rose and become a follower. You will become addicted and rise to the challenge!!!
