Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop

If you're here for October's Calendar Girls, please take a moment to check out this project before moving on. If you're on a time schedule, I totally understand and please click here.

Welcome to our 1st annual Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop. We are so glad that you have decided to join us for this very important cause.  According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. And, since there is currently no cure, early detection is crucial. You can do this by having yearly mammograms, yearly clinical breast exams, and regular self-breast exams.

We have some FABULOUS sponsors for this hop!!!!! You MUST leave a comment on each blog in the hop to be eligible for any and all prizes.

Also, for all prizes you wish to be considered for, you MUST visit their FB pages and/or blogs, LIKE & FOLLOW, and leave a comment on FB. So, if you want to be eligible for ALL the prizes, (I know I would!) You have a bit of work to do, but I promise, it will be worth it!!!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a personal cause for me as a lump was found on my right breast Christmas Eve 2010 with them making an appointment for a biopsy January 3, 2011. What a way to start the holiday season and to be "merry". Now, my story has a happy ending, sew to speak, as I have Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia which is basically pre-cancer cells found in the milk ducts which makes me a high-risk for breast cancer. I need to go twice a year for mammograms and examination to ensure that it doesn't develop further. I'm a lucky one but scheduling your yearly mammogram and self-examination is NOTHING that need to be put off. Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia is something that can only be found through a mammogram!!! Alright, I'll step-down from my soap box, for now at least!

Recipe:

  • 6x6 white background
  • 5.75 x 5.75 inch piece of Cricut Celebrations paper
  • pink pearls in the upper right and lower right corners
  • breast cancer awareness brad in upper left corner
  • paper piecing was found in Make the Cut

If you would like to make a donation to the cause, you can go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.

Now it's time for you to go to Jen B.

Thanks for hopping with us!
