I liked this sketch because of the vintage look with not only the lace but the ribbon. I really enjoyed using the Vintage Printable Mason Jar Printables because.of the canning jars and remembering Gram at the stove canning. The lace was received from a good friend, Edwina Brown which is actually cut on the Cricut with paper! Thank you Edwina, my dear friend. . .

John 13 Love One Another and Share the Love

Good morning my friends!!!! Today I want to show you another two (2) page lay-out I have made for my niece’s graduation scrapbook using PaperPiecings by Nikki which I have made to apply for a position as Guest Designer for July!!! How exciting is that as I love her files!!!

 RECIPE for Page 1:
  • Paper Piecings by Nikki using Share the Love file with a slight modification (since when does a creative crafter follow the "exact" pattern?). Instead of all the ribbons on the bear, I used a ribbon depicting Autism as Kristin’s brother is Autistic and she is and has been very supportive of Jonathan. The earth represents that Kristin is a “tree-hugger” and the heart is her love of Christ and her family.
  • Photo Mat paper is from DCWV The Heirloom Stack
  • Background paper is from my stash
  • Love Square is a cut using Lacey Label Cricut Cartridge cut at 3.5-inches
  • Ribbon is from my stash – you just gotta love our “stash”

 RECIPE Page 2:
  • Paper Piecings by Nikki using John 13 Love One Another which is an adorable patch-work bear and those of you who know me is quilting is my first love which makes this bear a purrfect match for me. It is also a purrfect match for Kristin as she is our 70’s “flower child” with the peace sign, the cross for her love of Christ and her faith.
  • Photo Mat paper is from DCWV The Heirloom Stack
  • Background paper is from my stash
  • Journal square is cut using Lacey Label Cricut Cartridge at 3.5 inches
  • Ribbon and ribbon rosette are from my stash – you just gotta love our “stash”

Wish me luck with my “bid” for July Guest Designer for PaperPieceings by Nikki (put in a good word for me!!! ) along with the best of luck and love for Kristin!

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs 4th of July Parade

Stand by the parade route as Scrapping with Lisa's Designs (http://scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/) for the 4th of July (http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_57/4th-of-July.htm) file. The DT is doing their weekly blog hop and want you to grab your lawn chair, your favorite beverage and sit along the parade route as we want you to have the best seat in the house!!!

The Design Team's project was to create a project as a Home Decor using at least two (2) of the files.

This hop starts with Lisa, the owner; of Scrapping with Lisa's Designs if you happen to get lost along the way . . . we want to make sure you follow the parade route with the great talented line-up below!

Line-up:

Hope you enjoyed the parade today for the 4th of July. We planned this early enuf that you can get your own set of files to have your own home decor item! Lisa is offering to two (2) lucky winners that comment on each stop along the way of the blog one free file from her store!!!! Be sure to stop at each blog addie and remark!!!

For my project, I had purchased a 12 x 12 shadow box frame as a BOGO as we say here in Pittsburgh (Buy One Get One)! I had this FaBuLoUs firework paper that is the very most funtastic purrfect paper! I then made two (2) of Lisa's bears, DrumBear Boy and Statue of LiBearty. For those who know me, I have this warped sense of humor ~ at which point, all I could think of was "and they called him macaroni" as the wording with my bears. My bears are pop-dotted to add height! Check out the fireworks as they glisten and light up the sky to celebrate America's birthday as there are rhinestones to set off the sparkle!

Aren't my Patriot Bears just adorable!!!! I can hardly control myself!

Hope you enjoy my project and hope you leave some wonderful comments as I sew love to read them -

Another Fairy Day Blog Hop

Welcome to Another Fairy Day Blog Hop. We have one great line-up for you.

If you have arrived from then Linda you are on the right trail. If not, I would want you to start at the beginning with Gill as I wouldn’t want you to miss fairy stop along the way!

For my project I have used either paper received through various swaps (my fairy stamps and ribbon), scraps (used to cut my fairy which I had cut twice to give shadow effect, under my stamp sentiment on the inside, and fairy stamp background) and the only paper that was a new sheet was the background my peach pearl paper which was found on discount bin at Pat Catan’s for a ream of this wonderful paper for $2.00!!!! Now, I call this fairy doing one great shopping job!!!

Your next stop along the trail is Becky.

Sasha Takes Over for the Day

Grammie Lynne’s busy with cleaning and sorting through things so, she let me play with her Cricut, with supervision of course!

We reviewed the rules first which are:
  1. not eating while using the Cricut
  2. not touching the mat when the Cricut is cutting
  3. not stopping the Cricut when it is cutting
  4. and most important is THE CRICUT IS NOT A TOY!!!!!!
Here is a picture of me first with a snowflake from the Winter Lace Cricut Cartridge that Grammie and I made another crafting time with a big sparkly in the center!

Now, that I know the rules, Grammie told me to pick out what I wanted to make…. I chose the Disney Princesses from Happily Ever After and Dreams Come True Cricut Cartridges. I made the shadows (but Grammie calls the silhouettes) of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty (but Grammie calls her Aurora), Cinderella, Little Mermaid (but Grammie says her name is Ariel), Belle, and Jasmine who flies around on a magic carpet! We went through Grammie's scrap drawers for the backgrounds but used a brand new piece of black paper for the shadows.

Here is a picture of me at the Disney Princess Tea Party that Grammie, Mommy and I had gone to and I was Snow White.

Hope you enjoyed and we’ll let Grammie get back to cleaning and of course, we’ll have to stop and make dinner before Mommy gets here! Did I mention, that I help cook too???? Guess, we'll do a cooking blog the next time!!!!

Now as Grammie says:

First Time Guest Designer - Aunt Ruth

Welcome to an exciting post. I am very blessed to have a very brand new crafter with her very very first Guest Designer position ... now for the debut of - take it away Rhonda, aka Blue Crayons, with the introductions please

Today my Aunt Ruth is a guest designer for Lynne over at Her CraftinessMy Aunt came down from Michigan to visit her brother (my papa) while he was in the hospital. I have taught her how to craft while she is here visiting and she is LOVING IT. So far she has paper pieced, made a few cards, crocheted, inked, stamped and so much more.

Today she is sharing her Father's Day card she made for her husband. She came up with it all on her own. The pieces are paper pieced.

The background is a piece of double sided paper with guitars and microphones on it. Front is the bigger ones while the back is smaller ones. She used a fancy fathers day stamp and put it at the bottom. Along the top and middle is a tie she added with a half of pocket.

On the inside she put a inked piece of green paper with the words "love you forever" and a Tim Holtz antique truck. On the opposite side she put a inked tan piece that is inked with "thinking of you". This card is now on its journey to her husband whom she misses dearly.

What a great card, definitely not a beginner's card - beautiful!!! Thank you Rhonda and Aunt Ruth!!!  Be sure to stop over at Rhonda's blog and give some bloggie love!!

Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Team - Swimming Suit Bear

Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Queen for Her Craftroom Design Team displaying Lisa's Swimming Suit Bear, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_61/Swimming-Suit-Bear.htm, which is available in her store. Today, we are going to showcase her little swimming suit bear in a shaped card which will not only will show the versatility of this file as each member of the team is very creative with thinking outside just the cutting file but also the many different styles of cards which are available which we as crafters need to look outside the traditional "square" card!!

Wouldn't want you to get burnt along the way without sun tan lotion with our swimming suit bear! Here is the complete line-up.

Queen of Her Craftroom

For my project, I used an idea seen in Paper Crafts July/August 2012 Magazine. There is a beach ball card (page 34) that the pieces are sewn together. I thought what a great place to put the swimming suit bear … the ball card was made using Make the Cut. The button at the center of my beach ball has stitching of red bakery twine. the little sunglasses are from a set of stickers. Inside message will say, "Its summer - let's have a ball".

Be sure to stop and remark at each stop along the way along with the Design Team Page, http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/, and become a follower!!!!! Lisa is offering a free file to two lucky people who have remarked and became a follower of http://scrappingwithlisadesignsdt.blogspot.com/.

Thanks again for stopping and remember to stop again the following Monday for a home decor project featuring Lisa's new Patriot Bears file, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/item_60/Patriotic-Bears.htm!!

Daddy's Little Princess Blog Hop

Welcome to Daddy's Little Princess today celebrating dad's everywhere. Almost every little girl has wrapped daddy around their little finger and is Daddy's Little Princess! Their first love is their dad and who they are going to marry. Today, we are giving homage to those special dad and daughter moments. I'm sure you all have your own stories of you and your dad and would love for you to share them with us as we recall our special moments whether it be as a daughter or watching your granddaughter wrapping their finger around their dad ....

We have one fabulous line-up sharing with you today and wouldn't want you to miss a single stop as we are having some blog candy for one lucky winnerl! Lynne makes these beautiful inspirational crosses on her embroidery machine that will be made for the lucky winner in the color of their choice!

I’m the first stop in today’s hop and glad you stopped by today! Father’s Day is a tough day for me as I lost my daddy last year and he is in heaven celebrating with the angels! I did make a lay-out though for today’s hop. My granddaughter, Lily, loves her Daddy and she most definitely has him wrapped around his little finger. Its sweet watching the two interact.

For my lay-out, I used Nana’s Nursery for Girls for my background paper with crowns cut from Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge cut at 2.5-inches to fit above my 4 x 6 mats that have polka dot ribbons to hold the pictures. “Daddy’s Little Princess” was made through Make the Cut with an added shadow layer.

Now, you've heard my story let me send you to the next chapter at Colleen.

Coming Attractions to mark your calendar for -- have you ever cheered for the villains of the Disney movies - well, here's your chance to watch just the villains on June 23rd with The Disney Villains We Love to Hate Blog Hop beginning at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/

Oh, the DRAMA of it All - Let there be DANCE!

Good morning and Blessed Sunday and Happy Father’s Day!!!!

Yesterday was the graduation party and needless to say, I’m beat but none-the-less, I’m having Father’s Day dinner here for my husband that his children may come over for dinner! I didn’t have all the pages I had intended to make for Kristin’s scrapbook, but will make the additional pages later this month as for now. But, these two pages that I hadn’t shown you were in her book!!!,

Kristin had taken dance classes since she was knee-high to a grasshopper the same dance studio that my daughter, Jen, had taken her lessons. What can I say but “tradition”! Also, Kristin was involved in Drama with South Park High School for all of her years attending. I had seen her in her last performance and “Li’l Abner” this past spring. Some of her other performances were Annie, Alice in Wonderland, Dracula, and Grease to name a few.

For the dance lay-out, I found the kewlest paper – the stage with a red curtain – now, how kewl is that let alone it was on clearance!!! A scrapper’s favorite words next to sale of course! I cut out three (3) dancers from Shall We Dance Cricut Cartridge and love the swirl inset that makes the dancers look like they’re moving. I layered them in red with an ivory slightly off center, again, to give the feeling of motion. Mats were then added to the bottom for her to place her pictures with again having the red with the ivory off-set. I added for interest my eyelet corner punch and a blingie in the corner. (How’s that for technical terminology!)

For the next page lay-out, again, I found on the clearance table another kewl paper with the comedy/tragedy masks in the bottom corner. To this I added the masks in blue and white (South Park’s colors) in the upper right corner. Did I ever mention that for their banquet last year and this year, I had made the invitations?? Hmmmm, guess not. Well, I had with 100 last year and 75 this year! Well, excuse my ramblings, but I wanted to let you know that the masks on her lay-out are the same that I had used for the invitations! Mats again were added for her pictures with this goldish tone to match the background with blue ribbons to match South Park’s school colors.

Since, I mentioned the invitations, thought I would show you what they looked like for "bragging rights" LOL!!!

Happy Father’s Day to the many Father’s and blessings with love to my daddy whom I lost last year!

Now, for a coming attraction from our sponsor, me that is! Tomorrow, I am hosting a hop titled “Daddy’s Little Princess”

with a phenomenal line-up AND did I mention blog candy??? Hmmmmm – guess not, but there will be and this will be a cross that I make using my embroidery machine with the winner’s choice of color! The one that is pictured is a dark purple! Oh, by the way, if you think the little adorable girl, I might add, looks familiar, its me and my daddy!

God Bless the Graduates of 2012

Good morning and happy weekend!!!! Today is the graduation party and needless to say, I don’t have all the pages I had intended to make for Kristin’s scrapbook, but will make the additional pages later this month as for now, I need to make mac’n chz for over 100 people!!!!! Are there any volunteers to help??? LOL!!!

Guess, what??? I supposed you’ll never guess it but I have another lay-out for you today and its for Kristin!!!!

South Park High School does something wonderful few schools that I am aware of do – a Baccalaureate ceremony. What this is, there are several students that have a strong Christian belief hold their own ceremony. This ceremony was held in the auditorium of the high school the day before the actual graduation ceremony. There was an invocation which was given by Kristin. Scripture reading, Christian folk music was performed, various students came up and introduced themselves and said how important of an impact Christ had upon their lives to succeed in school! This program was totally organized by the students!!! I was very impressed that these students had this ceremony and professed their love of Christ in today’s society where you hear that even the Lord’s Prayer can’t be said during graduation ceremonies, students speaking aren’t allowed to offer a prayer or even say the word “Christ”. Hats off to the Class of 2012 for putting Christ in their Graduation!!!!

For this lay-out I made a cross using My Scrap Chick’s Easter cross, http://www.myscrapchick.com/product.cfm?product=77which I layered with puff dots, I also used the program (yes, there was even a program with the words to the songs being sung!), and a place for Kristin to put one of the pictures from the ceremony. Now, this mat is only a piece of paper, but the beautiful piece of paper lace was made by a dear friend of mine, Edwina Brown, in one of my happy mails and I truly believe with the love she made this that it belonged on my page which I just trimmed in ribbon. I also found these wonderful brads that are beaded wire words by Darice Finishing Accents - "dream", "believe", and "faith". Truly words of inspiration!

God Bless the Class of 2012 with special blessings of grace and love to my beautiful niece, Kristin!!! Wishing the graduates the best, love, and thanking South Park High School graduates for putting Christ in their Graduation!
