For my project today, I want to take you back to my "roots' per-say, I was brought up in a small Congregational Church where the members were of German descent. As I had said previously on another post, I had learned my hymns including my Christmas hymns in German as compared to English which was rather odd in the mid 50's.

Christmas was always a grand time in the church, but with this theme, what came to mind is the little children at the end of our Christmas program would always hold a special part with Santa helping. Mrs. Logue would bring out a cake with a candle in it and the youngest children would sing "Happy Birthday" with the "Happy Birthday dear Jesus, we always love you!" Then either Mrs. Logue or Santa; shhhh don't tell anyone but the man behind the suit would be my grandfather; would blow out the candle, of course with the children helping, and everyone would enjoy Jesus' birthday cake.

Now with drawing on my memory - I baked for you a birthday cake to Jesus using my Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge cut at 5.5-inches using Mrs. Claus' Kitchen Stack of paper and glossy accents on the frosting that just makes you want to swipe your finger through the frosting.

The inside of my cake, I inserted a picture of who the celebration is about, Jesus. For this, I cut the prism hologram blue paper and baby Jesus cut from the Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge cut at 2.75 inches. Now, one thing I do not like with the cartridge is baby Jesus, his blanket and the star are all cut from one cut. I guess you could say to avoid frustration, I cut these in white and then colored and shaded with my prism pencils.

I hope I took you back to a happy time in my memories of my little German church and the birthday party for Jesus and a reminder who this season is for - Happy Birthday Jesus, I always will love you!

Now, Hippity Hop on over to Enjoli to see her Fabulous Creation Today!

God Bless everyone and Merry Christmas!!!
Hugs and Love,
Lynne
