WELLL, I'm not really a glitter and bling type person, but I thought what a challenge - I can do this!!!!! What I have done for is what some are calling an altered journal. Again, I have challenged myself as I have never done of a project such as this but was quite pleased with the outcome . . .
One of my favorite stores to frequent and find "goodies" is Dollar Tree. They have composition books. If you are close to my age, I'm sure you would remember them as those black and white notebooks they handed out in school for your spelling words -- yep, those are the ones. They measure 9.75-inches x 7.5 inches. Ok, at least that's what this one measured. The inside is lined paper for notes, journaling, and of course those nasty spelling words!!!!
RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
- composition book
- DCWV The Mariposa stack --- if you haven't seen these stack - you butterfly lovers will absolutely love this!!!
- Studio G Irridescent
- Gems that have the gunk, now that is a technical term, that self-attach from Pat Catan's
- Chandelier Gems that Michaels has in various colors with 6 on a card for a Dollar --- what a deal!!!!! This package is clear with a light yellow
- White flowers from a RAK from Deborah Marie Foti
- Various ribbons from my stash
- Glider, glue sticks, and my most favorite accessory - my Xyron!
RECIPE DIRECTIONS:
- I measured the composition book and cut the paper accordingly and attached to front and front inside, back and back inside -- if you notice, I actually pieced it to show off the butterflies and fussy cut as much as possible
- The outside front has a folded corner that has flower gems glued on the outside piece to slip that piece of paper you need last week but can't find
- I added a pocket along with a tag on the inside front was cut using my Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge
- Ribbons were cut to size for the outside close to the binding both front and back along with on the inside front lining the "prairie point" that was on the front to hold in place - ribbons were run through the Xyron which makes them easier to attach
- Outlining the swirls with the Studio G, adding white flowers, chandelier gems along with the clear gems
- Outside edges with distressed with black ink pad
Now, I'm sure you want to view the finished product . . .
Additional tags were made with ribbons for journaling and/or book marks ---
I hope you enjoyed my first time efforts with my journal along with my glitter and bling!!! Your next stop along the way is Lisa T.
God Bless you and thank you

ReplyDeleteHello, Lynne, I'm now following your bright and colourful blog page. This altered notebook is just so pretty. I love DCWV goodies and the sheet you have chosen is simply divine and what a good foundation to glitter and bling with...wow! I love all the embellishments you have used but since I'm a girl who likes the girl's best friend...it has to be the sparkly diamond hearts that do it for me...lol!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to "meet" you on this blog hop.
