I am thrilled and honored today to showcase a very talented friend of mine, Lisa Woodward of My Crafty Spaces.
Lisa had missed a Design Team project this past week, courtesy of a
hospital visit, and had really wanted the challenge of making the windchime….so, decided to make a patriotic windchime for her project. She took 4
chimes, and attached them by fishing line from a metal ring and spaced them
equal distance apart around the ring. They were then attached to a bar
lengthwise to help ring the chimes. The cross bar had fishing line
that ran down to 2 white and 1 red bed on top of a wire encased marble to help
sway the crossbar. Three equal length pieces of general
purpose jewelry chain were attached by large jump rings from the metal ring and then attached the 3 pieces of chain to one large jump ring. For the top
of her chime, she used 2 left over aluminum dinner trays and used a star
template and connected them together by folding and pressing tabs to make the
star points. To straighten out all of the creases from the
dinnerware, she ran it thru her Big Kick between two cutting pads and flattened
it, then outlined a flag pattern, and painted using acrylic
paints. She then applied Tim Holtz, Vintage Photo, Crackle Distress Crackly Glaze
over the paint to make it look more vintage “Americana-ish.” She inserted a large
eyelet in the top and bottom bottom of the star and connected the
chime assembly to the bottom, and the hangar loop via a large jump-ring from
the top.
Lisa, what a wonderful project!!!! Your creativity always amazes me. I only hope you are feeling better!!!! Please, be sure to stop and give Lisa some bloggie love!!!!!
Happy Birthday America!!!!
