Kung Fu Panda Wishing You a Happy Birthday Cardz 4 Guyz

WOOOO HOOOO!!! I had previously entered a lay-out and card that I had made for Crafty Girls Design Team Project for January 21st in Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge Blog and have been given the honor of being February's Guest Designer!!!! The theme this week is "Oriental". Here is my third card which was an actual challenge for me but once I got a game plan it all fell together:

Recipe:

• Recollection cardstock base of Cricut Pagoda Cartridge using bamboo card base with check behind showcasing the bamboo cut at 5.25 inches
• Panda Bear cut at 2.25 inches using Cricut Pagoda Cartridge using scraps
• sentiment, "Happy Birthday Banner", had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC and is chalked around the edges 
• another Panda Bear inside by sentiment along on the opposite side using the negative of the bamboo

How's that for a great card for the guy in your life that was super easy once I got a game plan in place!!!!

Lacy Sunshine Jewel June Blog Buggmee Playing Peek-a-Boo

Lacy Sunshine has a challenge blog and Challenge #25 is a Bingo Challenge . . . . a free image is offered if you had participated in the previous challenge using a Lacy Sunshine image. Jewel June Bug Buggmee is the that is offered and she is simply adorable and reminds me of an oriental theme. The Bingo I did on the board is: buttons (the white ones in the upper left and lower right corner which reminded me of butterflies), glitter (Stickles Glitter on her wings) and die cut (my card shape). I also have pearls in the center of my red flowers with pink rhinestones on my cut-out tree.

With all that being said, I just have to share my card . . .

  

RECIPE:

• card was cut using DCWV Lady Couture Stack and Cricut Pagoda Cartridge set on the card page 70
• background is from a a free download at Crafter's Companion free download for February 12 2012 Love is in the Air
• no sentiment at this time - thinking I just may use it as a gift card
• Jewel June Bug Buggmee was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils and gel pens
• fussy cut her out
• button were from my stash with shanks cut off - thought they looked like butterflies but they are actually hearts!
• red flowers were from a dear friend, thank you Edwina Brown
• pink rhinestones were added to the tree branches for cherry blossoms
• pearls in the center are Queen & Co.

This "June Bug" sure looks like she has some attitude but is such a sweetie and will make a purrfect Valentine card!

Design Team Project for Purplefuntastick Creations

Today our project for Purplefuntastick Creations Design Team is to create a 3-D flower project along with including the recipe for making this … to make life a little more interesting, this is only Part 1 and the entire DesignTeam both the Senior and the Junior Team are working as one!!!

Recipe:

Cricut Pagoda Cartridge cut at 1.75 inches

K & Co. Flower Garden paper

Four (4) flowers were cut at 1.75 inches.

One flower is kept whole with five (5) petals and the other 3 flowers have 1 piece cut off each of the flowers.

There has been (1) extra flower cut for the one additional piece cut.

Curl the petals with your fingers to give some shape and curl. The more the pieces are curled and handled, as long as they are handled GENTLY, they will take shape!

The two (2) pieces that have four (4) petals are then hit with the hot glue to hold the ends together with a slight seam.

The three (3) single petals that are left are folded in half with the point at the bottom.

Grasp one part of the petal and glue to another part to half of the petal first and hold together.

Fold this center section in half and glue to the final single petal.

At the bottom of this center section, where the point is located cut off the point where it gives a triangular piece.

Put a dab of hot glue in the center of the bottom petal which is the five (5) piece petals and attach one of the four (4) piece petals to the center.

Place another dab of hot glue in the center of the two pieces that have been glued together and add the other four (4) piece petal to the center.

The triangular piece then gets glued to the very center of the three (3) pieces that have been glued together. Hold this last section together to make sure all is held together.

My flower reminds me of a pansy which is my very favorite flower and may ink in advance prior to gluing to add additional dimension. I hope you enjoy my "pansy" and hope it has given you inspiration to try also.
