Purplie Senior Design Team Project

If you stepped off the beaten path and were looking for "We're Off to See the Wizard, please click here to follow the yellow brick road. BUT, would love for you to sit a spell for a moment or two longer and check out my Purplie Senior Design Team Project!

It’s Senior Design Team Project today with anything goes. WELL, the SR DT took it upon ourselves to do a project using the color purple in some way or another to pay homage to our illustrious leader!!!

For my project, I have made a “plodding” box …. What is a “plodding” box you ask --- it is my interpretation of an exploding box but not feeling in the best the past month, I have not completed my project – but SHHHHH, don’t tell Kari!!!!

Recipe:
K&Co. flower garden paper that is double-sided
Butterfly brads which were purchased from Pat Catan’s
Flower is a beautiful gift from Deborah Marie Foti - thank you Deborah and its purrrrfect for this project!!
Cricut Summer in Paris cartriddge 3D Chair cut at 2.5-inches (what was I thinking???)

Before, I show you what it looks like with the lid removed, I need to tell you an inside joke. As you may have guessed it, I’m a jokster! When Kari puts requests on her DT, I usually say I’m pouting and going to sit in my chair --- well, it goes from there with the bantering between Kari and I, my chair gets put in the corner and then SHE PAINTS MY CHAIR PURPLE – can you image???

Hope you enjoyed my project for the DT today and would love to hear your comments!! Please check out the other Senior Purplie Design Team for their projects today . . .

God Bless and thank you for stopping by

Happy 4th Anniversary Jenny and Dan

My beautiful daughter and her wonderful husband have been married for four (4) years as of the 17th of November of course they now have a precious little baby, Lily!

For their anniversary, I made them a card, dah, of course I did!!! The paper I used for the background was scraps from when I had made the wedding card a few weeks back. Now, with the scraps, what was left had the UPC code which needed covered - The red roses is from Immortal Love Stack which was embossed using my Cuttlebug Swirls. I used a punch to cut my circle out of white and the top of the bottle after coloring with copper marker was embossed also with my Cuttlebug. The bottle with the wine glass is vellum cut from Summer in Paris Cricut cartridge at 4.25 inches. The word "cheers" was cut a 1.25 inches with black paper using Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. The number "4" is from Make the Cut. Everything was assembled and I think this card made a simple statement.

The statement on the inside says it all - "all things grow with love"

Congrats Jen and Dan -- here's to a long happy life together with my precious granddaughter! They're still a beautiful couple!

Thanks for stopping by today and thank you for helping me reach 200 followers!! I'm going to have to come up with something special to celebrate!! You are the bestest and I'm sew appreciative!!

God Bless you

Nicole's Fierce, Fabulous and Forty Blog Hop

Welcome all to Nicole's FIERCE, FABULOUS AND FORTY Blog Hop. There are so many talented ladies joining the party. The wonderful women in this hop were asked to make anything related to the theme - cards, banners, scrap layouts, posters, bulletin boards, magnets, crafty knick-knacks, bookmarks, home decor and accents and so on and so on <G>.

Now let's get on with the festivities! If you came from Ashley then you are on the right track. If you want to start from the beginning, please hop on over to Nicole's Blog (http://crashingcreatively.blogspot.com/). Here is the complete hopping list just in case you get lost:

13. Lisa Marie: http://craftylam.blogspot.com

Now for my project, I had made a little photo book for Nicole to either put pictures of her and her family or her craft projects.

Recipe:

  • I folded 12 x 12 pieces of paper in half with gluing the outside side together with punching holes on the other side
  • I used my Make the Cut for the "& 40" and "Happy Birthday" in black paper using the font "vijaya"
  • The prismatic crown was cut using the Summer in Paris Cricut cartridge - hadn't used this cartridge before and now is one of my favs!
  • Using the Forever Young Cricut cartridge, I cut the "fierce", "fabulous", "creative", and "designer" also using my black paper cut at various sizes
  • Also, using the Forever Young Cricut cartridge, I cut the mannequins out of hologram paper in the pink with the mannequins being cut 4.5 inches tall.
  • Binder rings were used to hold the pages together with various ribbons tied onto the binder rings.
Nicole, hope you enjoy your birthday book as it will be coming in the mail!

Now, I do have some blog candy for your pleasure - I have 3 sheets of hologram paper in red, turquoise, and purple which is fantastic to use as it not only shiney but has a paper adhesive on the back to remove to stick on your projects. This paper is 8.5 x 11-inches!!!! I loved to use this paper and hope you liked it along with Nicole!!! I'm looking forward to making Christmas ornaments using this paper as it comes in a multitude of colors along with designs and cuts easily on the Cricut using the medium setting. All you need to do to be the lucky candy winner is to be sure to leave you name, would love for you to become one of my followers, and would need to know a way to get in touch with you.....

Now your next stop on this hop is the fabulously creative Lynda!!! Happy hopping!

Thanks for stopping and hoped your enjoyed my project!

I have the line-up for you just in case you get lost along the way:

Deb - http://craftytexaswoman.blogspot.com/

Now, let's get this blogaversary started . . .

In the beginning of the blog, I was struggling as to what to make for my project because as a rule, I make cards and this would be out of my realm. . . But I got to thinking and was admiring the blog button for this hop and it came to me . . . I made a 3-D mannequin using Summer in Paris Cricut cartridge cut at 10-1/2 inches in black and pink twice and then a cereal box once to give it stability to stand. I embossed the body of the mannequin using my Cuttlebug and the Swirls folder to give it some dimension. Now, my poor mannequin was looking a little boring sew I got tiny seed beads to make her a shiny necklace, added a rose that I had made using my Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge cutting the flower three (3) times at 1-inch each time to make a tiny little rose and just added a little green leaf which was cut free-style. She is styling with an 1/8-inch pink and white polka dot ribbon tied at her waist. NOW, since this is Summer in Paris and a Blogaversary .... this little mannequin tasted a little champagne along the way, got a bit tipsy, and dropped one of her heels at the bottom of her stand and who knows what became of the other one!!! Now, here's my project for your viewing pleasure . . .

I hoped you enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed making it and please don't forget to become a follower and leave a comment to be eligible for the grand prize! Your next stop is a very talented lady who I consider a dear friend, Jearise - stop on over and check out what she has made today.

I want to wish our hostess, Ashley a Happy Blogaversary and thank her for letting me participate in her hop!!!

I thank you for stopping and checking out my project!
God Bless
Hugs and Love,
Lynne
