Gemma Gerbera from Lacy Sunshine is in the Pink!!!!

My dear friend, Vicky Fortier, threw the gauntlet down and challenged me to create a card with the color pink!!!! WELL, I'm not a "pink" person - I'm jewel tones, not pastels . . . . this was truly a challenge for me but here goes: My daughters, Jen and Jean, both love pink, my granddaughter, Lily, loves pink and then there's me and I don't even wear the color pink, oh wait, my undergarments at time are pink  . . .

    RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
    • DCWV Carnival Stack was cut for a size A2 card as my card
    • background is from stash
    • vine is cut using Martha Stewart Punch with Queen & Co. Pink Pearls
    • Lacy Sunshine, Gemma Gerbera, was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers, Whisper Strokes Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils and gel pen accents, rounded corners and chalked around the edges
    • center of the flowers are Queen & Co. Black Pearls in Gemma Gerbera's hair
    • sentiment, "Just saying Hello", had previously been a freebie from Create with TLC which was chalked around the edges with rounded corners and mounted on a scraps from the front of my card to be used as a "Thinking of You" card
    • flowers were cut using white cardstock using Cricut Plantin Cartridge and then chalked for color with Queen & Co. Black Pearls
    • black/pink checked ribbon was found in my stash and thought it would make the purrfect finishing touches
Tah Dah!!!! I actually created a pastel card using the color pink!!!! Thanks for challenging me Vicky Fortier and hope you like my card!!!

Just a funny little story about a little black kitty - I guess she has pink issues also! Chloe is infatuated with this card as she keeps trying to run with it. The bow is missing along with 2 of the flowers!!!! Everyone is a critic!!!! LOL!

Thank you for stopping by to visit today. I appreciate and love reading your comments . . is your comment the next one I read???

Suzy B's Blooming Challenge Blog August 23rd

This week at Suzy B's Blooming Challenge Blog our wonderful sponsor is Lacy Sunshine and I was lucky to use one of her Flower Pot Pretties Poppy!!! I love poppies and I remember them growing at my grandmother's near the outhouse . . . . whenever they would bloom, it would rain but I always loved the orangish red color of them!!!!

No rain on my Poppy as she just wants to say "hello"

    RECIPE:
    • card is a 6 x 6 inch card using DCWV cardstock from my scrap drawer and can't seem to find the original stack it came from
    • backgrounds were cut 5.75 inch using Recollections Black/White Pad and 5.5 inch using DCWV Scrapbook Kit Stack Love & Wedding
    • image was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers with gel accents
    • sentiment, "Just saying HELLO", was a freebie from Create with TLC  which was placed in a teeny tiny envelope made from scraps which measures 1-inch (what was I thinking???)
    • red pearls were added to her ears for earrings with yellow pearls for the center of the red flowers both from Queen & Co.
    • red little flowers were in a card from a dear friend, Edwina Brown which I just love and make the purrfect accent for Poppy
    • red ribbon is from Darice Satin Edge Organza 1-inch ribbon and then tied into a bow

I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to showcase your project on Susy B's Blooming Challenge Blog this week to enter in the Challenge!!! It's anything goes with no size restrictions . . . . let your imagination run wild!!!! I can't wait to see your creations!
