Pink Buttons and Bows Card Blog Hop

Welcome to our blog hop today!!! Its my granddaughter, Lily's,first birthday and what better way to celebrate is with a little help from my friends and having a party! A beautiful baby girl with all pink buttons and bows thus we will be celebrating first birthdays using the color theme pink with a dash of buttons and bows not to mention a splash of bling.

Sit back, grab a cupcake, some punch and enjoy Lily's first birthday. If you just happened upon my blog by mistake, I want you to get your big girl shoes and panties on and start at the beginning which is ME, the proud Grandma!!

For our blog candy, it is going to be a pink package with buttons and bows of course with a bit of splash, bling and Stickles. To become eligible please leave a comment on each baby step along the way and becoming a new follower, but only if you sew desire!! How easy is that!!!!

Now, first, let me say I'm the Grandma and I can break the rules - right? ok, maybe not . . . ok, with that being said my project is not a card <gasp>! Not a card you say when this is a card blog hop -- didn't I just say, I broke the rules..... oops!!!

For my project I made a photo storybook type album (ok, I don't know what to call it . . . ) and put pictures from Lily's birthday luncheon from Saturday in it until I ran outta my tape runner along with pink paper (ok, I didn't plan ahead that well either!) but I promise to finish and post . . . .

RECIPE:

  • Once Upon a Princess Cricut Cartridge - crown cut at 5.75 inches on blackout
  • Various pink papers from Sweet Stacks, a K&Co baby print, and Nana's Angels
  • No buttons and bows have been injured at this time for embellishments
  • Princess cut from Alphabet cut at 1.75 inches from E2
  • Tags cut at 1.75 inches - memo to self I need more tags!!!
now for the pictures -

Thanks for stopping by and Happy First Birthday Lily! Your next stop along the way is my good friend and very talented Susan.

Welcome to the Birthday Wishes Blog hop. Hi every one, I want to thank you for joining us today for Brenda’s birthday hop. Brenda’s turned a corner to 40 something and she has a lot of wishes right now.   Please make sure you leave some bloggy love at all the stops today. If you post on all the hops and follow hers and my blog you will be entered to win some blog candy from her!!!

You should have just come from Lisa's blog. Brenda’s blog will be the last stop, so make sure you are commenting on everyone’s post before you get there.

First off - Happy Birthday Brenda! I've just met Brenda and she's a wonderful person and I had a great time making her birthday wishes!!!! Brenda loves the colors pink and purple and elephants! To start with, every birthday party and every birthday girl, deserves to wear a party hat. I think Brenda would look fabulous in a crown!!!! Now, this isn't any ordinary crown - it's a crown with "elephant walk" which was cut from Once Upon a Princess for the crown and the elephants were cut from New Arrival using Linen and Lace paper for the crown and scraps for my elephants cut at 1-1/2 inches. The crown is glitzed with rhinestones and Brenda, don't worry as it's adjustable and I'm sure it will fit!!!!

Brenda, what would your birthday be without a birthday card!!!! For this birthday card, I used the Lines and Lace paper again along with Debbie Mumm's Noah's Ark for the drink. I used From My Kitchen and New Arrival cartridges. The pink elephants were cut at 1-1/2 inches and the Pink Lady drink was cut at 5-inches with not any olive but a purple olive!!!! I used Glossy Accents for the star on the glass! I guess it depends on how many birthday drinks before we start seeing pink elephants and I guess I must have had enuf for two pink elephants! <Grin>!

The inside sentiment for the card is "You're only young once. You can be immature for a lifetime!" This I know is true as I still haven't grown up and still don't have a clue as to what I want to be when I grow up!

What's a blog hop without candy - I have a package of Darice Hot Pink Self-Stick Gems and Creative Imaginations Chipboard Embellishments for your scrapping pleasure by leaving a comment and if you're not already a follower, please become a follower and leaving a message on the Birthday Girl's Blog.

First, off, I want to wish the birthday girl who is a very dear friend and sister a very very happy birthday. Kari has her love of chocolate, purple, and butterflies. Well, Kari, I have combined the these just for you!!!!!

First off, the birthday girl needs a crown - not just any crown but a chocolate crown with purple stickles and rhinestones!!!  This was cut from Once Upon a Princess using the Sweet Stack paper. And Kari, don't worry this crown is adjustable!!!!

Now, what's a birthday for a dear friend without a card .... this card was cut again, using the Sweet Stack with butterflies cut using my E2 Alphabet built-in cartridge. The Cuttlbug was used to emboss the butterflies and the inside of the card with Swirls, Dots, and Birthday. Purple ribbon and bow with rhinestones were added for bling bling! The inside of the card was stamped with purple ink with a phrase from Ralph Waldo Emerson with another purple butterfly and bling bling!!!

Now, every birthday girl needs to get a gift --- this little handbag was cut from Plantin with the chocolate paper from Sweet Treats with butterflies cut from the Alphabet built-in cartridge on my E2 with the larger butterfly cut from Once Upon a Princess which was glitzed with butterflies, purple stickles, purple ribbon, and rhinestones!!! As to what is in the package --- shhhhhhh it's a surprise for Kari and I can't tell you - you just might tell her!!!!

Now, as to your prize --- I have some blog candy for a lucky person that leaves a comment and if you aren't already a follower, I would love to have your follow my blog! With Kari's love of butterflies, I have some butterfly stickers to add bling to your own projects!

Now, your next stop on this PurpleFuntastick Bonanza Bash for our friend, Kari is Erin.

We have divided this hop into two (2) days with different blogs for you to visit each day. Make sure to visit all!

Day 1: September 3, 2011

First off, I would like to welcome you to Susan's Anything Goes Birthday Bash and with me being the first stop on the hop! I am Susan's co-host as we were teasing, the hostess with the mostest  .... Now, let's get this party started!

Well, Susan, has become a great friend of mine and since I have been teasing her that since she wants to be a princess when she grows up I just needed to give her the "royal treatment"! She, of course need to have a birthday hat and what better hat, than a royal crown! This pretty little crown was cut from Once Upon a Princes and glittered up with rhinestones and Stickles not to mention it's adjustable for those big hair days.

Now, every princess needs a wand to rule her kingdom or sprinkle fairy dust. This wand was also cut from the Once Upon a Princess at 8-inches.

Now, what birthday party doesn't have cake with candles. Make a wish and blow out the candles! This dimensional cake was cut from Life's a Party which has some fantastic 3-dimensional cuts for all types of parties. I again, used the Stickles and was told once I played with them I wouldn't want anything else --- well, they're right and I have sparkled everything in my dining room!!! When these dimensional center pieces are cut out, they are only one (1) color, sew, I colored the candles with my markers and again play with my stickles! The best part of this cake is that is calorie-free!

Now, on to the presents!!!! (My favorite part of course!) On Love to Crop, Amy had a project that was a box card which I love!!!!. This is my second box card that I have made and am quite pleased with the end results! It would be sew much better with a Score Pad but considering I don't have one in my possession (HINT HINT HINT), I improvised with my quilt rulers, mats, and my paper piecing pressing tool! The belly band has a lacey circle cut from my Essentials which is a built-in cartridge on my E2. Tinkerbell (oops Tink must have had a ward drobe malfunction as heaven forbid she doesn't have  her trademark green dress) cut from Classic Disney (cut at 3-3/4-inches) on the top has left Susan a bit of fairy dust and chocolate --- oops bad Tinkerbell for eating the chocolate!!! One outta two ain't bad!!! Tink has been shaded with my colored pencils and yes, Stickles and I have become great friends as she even has Stickles!!!

Don't forget to stop and wish Susan a very Happy Birthday!!!! Well, hope you enjoyed the start of Susan's party --- now, lets move this party to Amber's blog.

Before you leave though, I do have some candy for you that Tinkerbell hasn't gotten to. There is a Disney Tinkerbell cut at 6-inches that you too can have some pixie dust and love! I just ask that you leave some bloggie love. I sew love to hear what you think!!!

God Bless all and Happy Birthday Susan!

Ember's 2nd Birthday Card

We went to Ember's, a 2 year old's, birthday party on Friday and wanted to incorporate several of my cartridges because I couldn't decide upon just one. Abby Gadaby is from Sesame Street Friends (the fairy in training) was cut at 6.25 with added bling of rhinestones for her wand. The card was cut with A Child's Year cartridge (of course one of my fav's!) using Sweet Treats paper.

Check out Abby's birthday crown which is cut from Once Upon a Princess -- these crowns are great as they have numbers which are cut inside. Of course, I used the number "2" for Ember's 2nd birthday with the added bling of rhinestones to decorate the tips of the crown! These are perfect colors for a little 2 year old princess of pink and purple!

The inside of the card I used Once Upon a Princess as it has an adorable phrase of Magical which was cut at 2.50, George cartridge has a great Birthday Blessings phrase also cut at 2.50 and ember cut using the Alphabet which is built into the E2.

I absolutely love my Xyron with the phrases and letters for the card with less mess plus while I'm cutting I insert the little pieces and this way when I am finished cutting, I have all my little pieces in one place glued and ready to go to finish!

Hugs and love,

Lynne
