Crafty Gals Challenge: Let's Hear it for the Boys Challenge!

Welcome to Crafty Gals Corner second challenge with the theme of Lets Hear it For the Boys. We have two (2) fabulous sponsors for our challenge: Lacy Sunshine (3 digital images) and QKR Stampede (3 digital images)!!!!

I was fortunate to work with both Lacy Sunshine and QKR Stampede thus I have two (2) projects to share with you today as inspiration:

For my first project, I chose to used Lacy Sunshine Jamie Golfing. My friend, Rosie's, husband golfs and she likes to have golfing style cards to send to his friends for their birthday's. I thought this image was just "Fore" the occasion!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • green Recollection card stock cut for a size A2 card
  • DCWV Nana's Nursery background with scrap for banner
  • Jamie Golfing was colored using Whisper Strokes and Spectrum Noir Markers with gel pen accents
  • Darice Glossy Accents on hat
  • buttons tied with jute glued on banner which as you know is my very most favorite embellishment with my wonderful stash of tins of buttons!!!!
  • sentiment, "Fore" your birthday previous freebie from Create with TLC has rounded corners and chalked around the edges
  • inside sentiment, "May they ball lie in green pastures, and not still waters." from Create with TLC Golfers Diet Word Art and Digi Set which has some wonderful sentiments just for golfing in this set - sentiment is chalked around the edges and mounted on scraps

For my second image, I chose to do a layout with QKR Stampede Going Fishing for my boyfriend as one of his very most favorite things to do is "going fishing"

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • background paper is Karen Foster Designs Lure 'em in
  • Going Fishing was colored using Prisma Colored Pencils, Whisper Strokes and Spectrum Noir Markers with gel pen accents and chalked around the edges
  • fishing reel was cut using Cricut Celebrate with Flourish at 6.75 inches
  • sentiment, "Fish tremble at the sound of your name"  had been a freebie from Create with TLC
  • and of course the gentleman holding the fish is Bob!!
I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to enter your project(s) at Crafty Gals Corner where the theme is Let's Hear it for the Boys!!!! I can't wait to see your creations!

Create with TLC Progressive Challenge Image #6

Create with TLC had this phenomenal Progressive Challenge which was to kick-off World Card Making Day. She offered the first image if you request by email and upon completion, send finished project to her and she sends you the next installment and sew forth until you had a chance to collect a total of 12 free digital images!!!

Here's my card for image #6:

When I first started making this card, it reminded me of my dad. My dad was a super sharp dresser especially when it came to golfing!!!! It got to the point that my dad and my 2nd ex would have a competition as to being the "best dressed"!!!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • Recollection green Card Stock is the background of my card which was cut 6 x 12 inches
  • background is from my wonderful scrap drawer
  • Create with TLC 6 Golf Proof in the Putting Vintage was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Markers, and gel pens, rounded the corners and then chalked around the edges - had fun giving him a plaid sweater using my gel pen
  • sentiment on front, "Fore" your birthday" has rounded corners and was chalked around the edges
  • sentiment on inside, "Happy Birthday! Weren't you old enough last year?" has rounded corners and was chalked around the edges mounted on the same paper as my background paper from the front (reminds me of my dad's "warped" sense of humor which I'm delighted I, too, possess!

  • Cricut Everyday Paperdolls Cartridge was used to cut the hole flag (used gel pen to label as the 19th hole) and golf tee
  • golf ball is from my button stash
