Beccy’s Place Digital Designs by Beccy Muir
My paper obsession began with scrapbooking in the late 1990s and has since evolved into card-making and digital drawing.  There were a few years of decorative painting, teddy bear making and silk ribbon embroidery mixed in there too.  I still dabble in each of those crafts (and many others) from time to time but I generally gravitate toward paper, which I find versatile and forgiving.

I started “doodling” little designs for cards back in 2009, which is when I started my blog and began sharing my images with other Cardies.  From there I progressed to my very own online store selling digital drawings for cards and other paper craft projects.  Some of my images have now been made into rubber stamps by the wonderful team over at Sparkle N Sprinkle.  These days you can usually find me “hanging out” over on my blog, www.beccysplace.blogspot.com.

for my project, I chose to use Rick St. Dennis Pumpkin Scarecrow and decided to go with making him as my September Calendar. Fall is my very most very favorite time of the year and this scarecrow is just the purrfect calendar for the start of fall!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • Recollection white card stock using Cricut Elegant Edges Cartridge creating a page for my calendar measuring 6.75 inches
  • background paper is DCWV Harvest Gathering
  • Scarecrow was colored using Prisma and Whisper Strokes Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils and fussy cut around with edges with gel pen accents and puff-dotted onto the background

  • tiny baby brads were used with black gel pen accents to make them look like buttons
  • mini calendars can be found on the internet and then printed with the month cut using Cricut Expressions built-in cartridge and of course Stickles
  • sunflower buttons finished off my calendar
I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to visit and enter your project at 613 Avenue Create. I can't wait to see your creations!

Celebrate with New Challenge at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog

WHOOPIE!!!!! I'm one of the newest members of Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. Here is my very first post and granted it is late due to my having Shingles which affected my eyes and caused blurred vision.

With this all being said, I can't wait to show you my DT project with the theme being that of "CELEBRATE"! Ok, those who know me really well, know that I want to break out in song with Kool and the Gang but first let me share with you my card which of course is one of my favorite to create with - Alice in Wonderland!!!

For my project, I chose to use Crafty Girls Creations at Stitchy Bear Wonderland Cake. I fell in love with this image and what's not to love with the Cheshire Cat with his grin donning the Mad Hatter's Hat!!!! Did I mention that I have a birthday this month and I sure would love a cake "in this style"!!!!

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • card measures 5.5 x 7 inches with Recollections card stock with Recollections Black and White Stack for background
  • Wonderland Cake was colored using Copic R20, Prisma Colored Pencils, Whispers Markers,  and gel pen accents and I outlined the image (gee, I don't know whether I like outlining or not but sometimes it just screams, "I need it!"
  • film strip was cut using EK Film Strip border punch using black Recollection Card Stock
  • ribbon is from my stash which was wrapped around the background and then tied into a bow
  • word "Celebrate" was cut using the built-in alphabet on my Cricut E-2 and red Recollection card stock
  • sentiment, "It's your birthday! Time to par-tee!!!" had been from Create with TLC chalked around the edges mounted on a red scrap and then matching background paper from the front

I thank you for stopping by and visiting today. Don't forget to visit and enter your project at Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog . I can't wait to see your creations!

. . . and you just knew that I had to post this - ready, set, sing and follow the bouncing cake:

    The line-up for August includes:

Stop by and check out these holidays as I am sure you are going to want to remember these holidays and include them in your card making projects!!!!!

For my first project, Admit Your Happy Month - reminded me of the song

"If You're Happy and You Know it Clap Your Hands". Now, with my "warped" sense of humor, you know I had to figure out a way to make a card to reflect that!!!!

    • card was cut to be 6x6-inches using Ivory Recollection cardstock
    • the happy background paper for front and inside is from Cricut Celebrations stack
    • children, word "happy", and hands which were cut into card shape from Cricut A Child's Year Cartridge
    • "clap your" cut using Alphabet built into E2
    • the hands are cut with a center fold that you can actually "clap your hands" with the hands glued on the fold line

For my second project, I have made a friendship card for my friend who loves clowns for the first week of August is International Clown Month

I fell in love with Paper Piecing my Nikki's Just Clowning Around and knew I just had to have it for my card!!!!

    • card cut 4.25 x 5.5-inches with lilac Recollections Cardstock
    • clown cut using Paper Piecings by Nikki Just Clowning Around
    • background of card cut 3.75 x 5-inches with Celebrations Cricut paper stack
    • balls were cut using white cardstock and then coloring with markers
    • clown and balls were pop-dotted on front
    • inside sentiment was cut using Cricut Lacey Labels Cartridge
    • sentiment is "Laughter is the shortest distance between two people" a quote by Victor Borg
    • other sentiment is "If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun" quote by Katherine Hepburn

We will have blog candy to the lucky recipient that remarks on each site along the way!

Thanks for stopping by and mark your calendar again next month to see what Holidays to Celebrate on September 8, 2012 for the next Calendar Girls Blog Hop!

God Bless and thank you for stopping by
