You Look Better Than Words

This is a card that I had made recently for a card swap that was to be shabby chic and I added a bit of vintage to that!!!! She reminds me of "Hello Dolly" and I just might start off in song in my best singing voice while I tell you about my card . . . .

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • Recollection card stock as a size A2 card (4.25 x 5.5 inch) with scraps as the background
  • image was colored using Copic and Prisma Markers, Prisma colored pencils with gel pen accents AND of course, the Stitckle Fairy paid a visit to accent her umbrella and various parts of her dress and chalked around the edges
  • feather in her hat which reminds me of the costume Carol Channing wore
  • lace was tied into a bow with a button high top shoe in the center
  • rhinestones placed on the front of the card and Queen & Co tiny pearls for her earrings
  • sentiment, "You look better than words" is from the most recent club with Create with TLC and chalked around the edges
  • inside sentiment, "You really are amazing" is also from the most recent club with Create with TLC and was chalked around the edges and mounted on paper to match the front with a vintage paper as the background

Hello Friend

With the recent craft show I had, I was trying to make some additional cards that could be used either for a thinking of you or sympathy. . . . and with all the great images and sentiments from the most recent and current club at Create with TLC, I have sew many wonderful choices.

This little cutie reminds me of the Dolly Dingles which I think are adorable and with her sweet little hat and adorable outfit getting ready to garden - what's not to love????

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • Recollection card stock as a size A2 card (4.25 x 5.5 inch) with scraps as the background
  • image was colored using Copic and Prisma Markers, Prisma colored pencils with gel pen accents AND of course, the Stitckle fairy paid a visit to accent her hat The image was chalked around the edges
  • ribbon was received through a ribbon swap and I just had to add of course a button to compliment the ribbon and it's a ladybug
  • sentiment, "hello Friend" is from the most recent club with Create with TLC and chalked around the edges
  • inside sentiment, "Don't let little things bug you - the garden" is from the most recent club with Create with TLC and was chalked around the edges and mounted on paper to match the front

Thought this would be a purrfect card to send to a friend either as a "thinking of you" or one that is having some difficulty in their life.

I just wanted to share the information with you my friends regarding Create with TLC Monthly Clubs: Create with TLC offers a phenomenal club where for every month that you join the cost is $8.95 or you could join for 3 months at the cost of $25. I've said my best prayers for you . . .

With the craft show I recently had in April, I was trying to make some additional cards that could be used either for a thinking of you or sympathy. . . .

This image had been from the most recent club at Create with TLC:

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • Recollection card stock as a size A2 card (4.25 x 5.5 inch) with scraps as the background
  • image was pre-colored and layered with puff dots 3 mats to raise the image
  • organza flower with ribbon leaves with bead center added to the front - I love the vintage feel that was created between the wallpaper feel of the background to layering of mats to the image
  • sentiment, "The Lord Bless you and keep you . . . " is from the most recent club with Create with TLC and chalked around the edges mounted on additional scraps matching the front background
  • sentiment, "I've said my best Prayers for you" had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC rounded corners and and chalked around the edges mounted on additional scraps matching - I just love this background paper with the softness and vintage look

The scripture and sentiment that I had used on this card I thought it would make a perfect card for a friend dealing with issues, a sympathy card, or just a thinking of you . . . .

I just wanted to share the information with you my friends regarding Create with TLC Monthly Clubs: Create with TLC offers a phenomenal club where for every month that you join the cost is $8.95 or you could join for 3 months at the cost of $25. OOOOOhhh La La!!!

Question of the DAY???? Did you ever receive either an "Angel Kiss" or a Swap gift in the mail and thought - "Oh, how cute!!!" and then say, "What am I going to do with that???" WELL, I received not one but two sets of adorable wooden hangers that had banners hanging from them and thought - "HMMMMMM" and then it came to me - lingerie!!!!! See, I told you many times how I think outside the box . . . .

I love love love lingerie. Granted, I'm outta shape to wear such lovely garments but I had purchased from A Stitch A Half Machine Embroidery Designs has this adorable set, Lingerie and Lace Combo, with this corset being one of them.

With this not being a free-standing lace project, there are several options in which to make it that way - stitching either on tulle or organza - OR the option I went with stitching on tear-away and fussy cutting the finished item!! Then adding ribbon for the straps and wrapping around the hanger - viola!!!!

I'm thinking this would be a cute addition to a card or hanging from a tree . . . I gave this as an Angel Kiss and I will let the recipient and let her decide. As for me, I think I want to make a few more and perhaps put them on a clothesline and hang in my crafting room!!!

Thank you for stopping and visiting today and hope you come back again!!!

This Granny Stitches on Toilet Paper!!!

I believe I'm carded out for today and thought I would switch gears - stitching that is and thought I would share with you one of my craziest new projects which I have become obsessed with: embroidering on toilet paper with a coordinating towel - the purrfect gift for the people on your list you have no idea what to give them!!!!!!

When I get bored, I think outside the liter box and with this project today, I truly have thought outside of the liter box!!!!!

. . . you know my love of cats but a dear friend of mine has a friend that has a Doxie and I knew that Rosie would think that I had totally gone made but I made this to give to her friend, Barb . . .

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • one roll of toilet paper - well, I'm cheap and purchase mine 4 rolls for a dollar at the Dollar Tree
  • unwind toilet paper and count out 6 sheets and fold in half - put a scrap piece of stabilizer between the fold
  • now comes the fun part - I lay my toilet paper in a tiny box and unwind that the roll of toilet paper is on my left side with the folded piece towards the machine
  • set this on tear-away stabilizer that has been hooped and setting in your machine
  • you know have the option of either finding the center, placing your needle in the toilet paper, and holding in place and hitting start with your machine OR basting in place after finding the center of your toilet paper
  • image used in Embroidery Library Dachshund in Crown size 4x4 - anything larger is too big for the toilet paper
  • trim excess stabilizer away very very carefully!!!
  • I then place it in a cellephane treat bag found at the Dollar Tree (hey, 25 bags for a dollar!!!), wrap tight with a twistie that comes with the treat bags and add a bow using Darice Brown Satin Ribbon!
  • towel is stitched using water soluble both on top and bottom and the 5x7 image of the Dachshund in Crown and I usually press to give that finished look!
HINTS that I have found helpful!!!
  • do not use any design with more than 9,000 stitches as it eats into the machine
  • only use a 4x4 design as anything else is just too large
  • make sure the roll of toilet paper is on your left-hand side before stitching
  • placing stabilizer between the folds avoids your machine becoming hungry and eating the toilet paper
  • placing water soluble stabilizer both on top and bottom of the towel avoids the needle pulling the loops on your towel while stitching

Thank you for stopping and visiting today and hope you come back again!!!
