Hey Friends!

Welcome to my blog! and I am kicking off a new series starting September 12th called the Faith Verse Series that I will put on my blog every Monday...but for today I wanted to show you what it is about...I and my guest designers are going to give you their favorite verse and tell why and then create something with that verse in it. I hope you are blessed and encouraged on your spiritual journey as you go through this hop with some talented ladies...I am so blessed by their friendship and stories.

If you came here from Carolyn, then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this blog, then please start at the beginning by visiting Kari for it is the beginning...lol...but as you go through in case you get lost you can always come back. Don't forget to give the bloggy love.

There will be a prize from Kristal Andrews her Faith Stamps and some other embellies and ribbons from others that contributed to the Grand Prize! and you have to comment but you are not required to be a follower but it sure would be nice if you were :)! We love to hear what you have to share with us as well.  Have fun hopping and thanks again! :)

My special scripture is:  Ecclesiastes 3: 1-9

There is a right time for everything:
A time to be born, a time to die;
A time to plate;
A time to harvest;
A time to kill;
A time to heal;
A time to destroy;
A time to rebuild;
A time to cry;
A time to laugh;
A time to grieve;
A time to dance;
A time for scattering stone;
A time for gathering stones;
A time to hug;
A time to find;
A time to lose;
A time for keeping;
A time for throwing away;
A time to tear;
A time to repair;
A time to be quiet;
A time to speak up;
A time for loving;
A time for hating;
A time for war;
A time for peace.

For those of you who have stopped for the Loved by God Faith Blog Hop, I apologize as some of this is a repeat as to what I need to say.

This is a tough time of the year for me - my precious gift from God, Amalia Lynne was born on August 29, 1989.

My second husband and I were told that we would never have children. She was truly a miracle and a blessing from the beginning. We named her after my Grandmother, "Amalia" which in German means worker for God. My Grandmother was more of a mother to me than my own mother as being I was raised by her. I wanted to honor her by giving my child her name. My oldest daughter wanted her to have the middle name of Lynne as that is my middle name (another surprise for those who know me and have only known me as Lynne) and Jennifer's middle name was Lynne. Jennifer said since she had a different father, she wanted to have something the same as being it wouldn't be the last name. Thus the name Amalia Lynne.

The picture on the top right is Jen and Molly at Molly's Christening. Actually, Molly was baptised three (3) times. When she was life-lighted to the hospital the day she was born, one of the nurses who was a lay-minister asked if I would object if she would baptize my child and of course, I did not object. When we found out how serious her condition was, my minister came and baptized her. Well, I decided since she was such a precious gift, I wanted to have her baptized in church! Jen was given the honor of being Godmother to her baby sister. There was 10-1/2 years between my girls.

Amalia Lynne was a very precious child but complications occurred almost immediately at birth. She needed to be life-flighted to Children's Hospital. She had a grand mal seizure and a stroke which left my precious child as a quadapalegic. The Doctors and the Hospital said she only had 3 to 6 months to live and wanted to place her in a home. She was my precious child and gift from God. Why would I ever want to part with my precious gift for someone else to care for her? I took my "Molly", as we called her, home with us to care for and to love. I was blessed as she lived 25 months! It was a learning process as I learned to suction her, check her phenobarb levels, change feeding tubes, suction as she had chronic pneumonia.

Through all this she was treated as a "normal" child as much as possible - her ears were pierced, she went to the zoo, went to church, camping, saw Santa and the Easter Bunny, Kennywood (a local amusement park) where she even rode the merry-go-round. She started to seize and miraculously, they noticed and stopped the ride for us to get off and called the paramedics. My dad was very active in the Shriners and assisted with having and was visited by the them donate her wheelchair (it was pink because of course she was a girl!) and several of her apparatus to make life easier. With how active my dad was, the clowns even came to pay her a visit which was the beginning of August in 1991.

We  had a pool in the backyard that she would go swimming with her dad.

Her first Christmas we took her to the local mall to see Santa. This Santa was very very special....he asked what was wrong with her and when we told him, he layed his hands on her and blessed her. By this time, she was partially blind but was fascinated by lights. We left our Christmas lights up until she had passed and anything that could be decorated with lights, trust me lights were strung including her swing!

Don't get me wrong, this was not an easy journey but a journey I would never trade for anything.

I had a photo album of her life, but it was an old fashion photo album with just pictures and very little journaling. I took several of the pictures and made some pages for the pictures are emblazed on my heart but needs to be shared as this is a very precious gift that was given to me by God who gave me this precious child to shower with love as God loved me!

This was a very difficult posting and emotional journey for me as today, August 29th, my angel would have been 22 years old... Happy 22nd birthday Amalia. God Bless you and you are one of his special angels looking out over and watching me.

I had been a Girl Scout Leader which of course meant Molly went to the meetings with me and she knew each and every girl by their voices and would smile when they would talk with her. Also, considering my last name at the time and the popularity of the Cabbage Patch Kids --- I called her my Apitzsch Patch Kid.

In closing --- to everything there is a season and a purpose under the heavens, a time to be born a time to die - a time to laugh and a time to cry - a time to grieve and a time to dance. I must admit, it doesn't get any easier but I do thank God for the time he shared his precious angel with me.

Thank you for taking the time for me to share this with you and God Bless all our angels.....

As to the recipe for my layouts, I, of course have used A Child's Year for my silhouettes and the Alphabet built-in cartridge from my E2. I used my Xyron to attach the lettering and puff dots for the silhouettes.. The ribbons are self-adhesive Ki Memories from JoAnn Fabrics which is $1 per spool. Have I ever mentioned that my cartridge that I use the most and love the most is A Child's Year???

Now, I must tell you, that this is a teaser. I had posted different pictures with different lay-outs for the past three (3) days including with the Loved By God Blog Hop which began on August 27, 2011 with my scripture being that of Psalm 128.

Blog candy is always a plus which will be 2 hand-made notes cards with the rule that I would like you to stop and comment if possible each day with one of the days in your comment, mention which is your favorite cartridge. Easy, huh??? Sew, looking forward to seeing what is your favorites!

Your next stop is , I thank you for stopping by and visiting me.
I love to read your comments and please feel free to follow my journey on my blog as I would love to have you!

God bless you all and all the precious gifts from God
Love and Hugs

Lynne

  16. your story touched my heart and reminded me of the fear I faced not long ago, my baby had seizures starting at 6 mo, she just turned 2 on August 5th. She is doing great, growing and is a true blessing. I had to keep Matthew 22:37-39 close at heart durring that time.

  18. Thank you for your testimony. My heart is so full right now. As I am sitting here thinking of my own daughter who also turned 22 this year I am so saddened by your loss, but knowing you had her as a gift for 25 months instead of 3 - 6 as they had predicted, I am happy for you. Your angel is looking down on you and smiling every day.
    Hugs
