Hope you enjoy --- don't forget to leave a comment as the Cheshire cat card is being offered as my blog candy!!!

My project for today on the hop is the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland --- who doesn't love an infectious smile from a baby or him....

Who wouldn't smile when you open this card . . . was in an Alice mode when Sasha and I made this card of the Cheshire Cat with that big grin of his cut at 4.75 inches using the Cricut Cartridge Disney Classics which was placed with puff dots on the card base of course cut from my very most favorite cartridge - A Child's Year cut at 6-inches. SMILE was cut at 1.50 from the Create a Critter cartridge. A wonderful trick I learned from Canadian Nickel -- she used aluminum foil on a Halloween card that she put through her Cuttlebug. I love the look and used Swirley on the foil and put the word Smile on top!! Thanks Nicole for the idea!

Of course, I had Sasha's help again and she is a big help! We put the ribbon along with the smaller parts through the Xyron which makes life sew much easier to attach just keeping the Xyron right beside the Cricut when cutting my pieces! Added a bow and a little bit of glitz with the rhinestones and SMILE!

Now, the big question is -- who would like a card like this to open
and
would you SMILE?
ok, you guessed it, my Cheshire Cat card is my blog candy to the lucky winner!

Your next stop is Indira.

Have a great day and I look forward to seeing you again.

Guest Designer Wednesday - April Nourse

How fortunate I am to have wonderful people offer to be a Guest Designer and I am most appreciative. Today, my Guest Designer is April Nourse from Curls and Grins. I love what she has offered as her project - what a great idea!!!!!

April says: Back to school time means back to routine time in our family.  To help our children stay on track, I made an envelope system with each task written on index cards.  To make this folder, I opened five small envelopes and adhered the flaps together.  Next, I took a piece of 6x6 ½” cardstock and folded it in half so the dimensions would be 3 x 6 ½”.  This cardstock makes the cover of the folder. The cover has the child’s name on it and a few decorations that represent the child.   Then I labeled each envelope “morning,” “afternoon,” evening,” miscellaneous,” and “completed.”  Each child has cards with tasks written on them placed in the envelope corresponding to when the task should be completed.  When it is finished, the card goes in the “completed” envelope.  The kids love their personalized envelopes and the feeling of accomplishment as they fill their “completed” envelopes each day.

What a great sense of accomplishment and what a great idea --- I love this April!!! Wish I would have had this idea some 25-years ago!!!! Guess I can use it for my hubby though!!! <LOL>

Be sure to stop over and give April some bloggie love at Curls and Grins!!!! Thanks again April for a wonderful project!

Guest Designer - Sept 25th

Welcome to another fun-filled Guest Designer day with our uber talented Shannon. I (meaning Sue) serve on a design team with her and always love seeing her projects. Today is no exception! So without further delay, here's Shannon <G>.....

Our dear friend Lynne of Her Craftiness is out of commission and has left it up to her friends to take care of her blog.  Kari and Sue, you are doing a great job!  Today is my day to fill in as a guest designer.  Here is my "all about fall" project.

The paper was designed by Nancie Rowe-Janitz @ Fancy Pants Designs.  It is from the ALL FALL collection.  I saw this paper at the scrapbook expo this summer and had to have it!  Lucky for me it was 50% off!

For the flowers I used my new Sizzix die.  I had some cute paper in my scrap bin so I used that along with the felt.  For the centers I used my new favorite tool the ITop from Imaginisce.  I also added some bling just for fun!  And don't forget the twine on the left! I
love twine!! I think it is a great accent to any page!

That is all for today!  I hope you enjoyed my layout.  Lynne, we are all praying for a fast recovery!  Have a crafty day!!

Shannon
and share the love. Until next time...

Thank you

I want to thank each and everyone that held down the "fort"
while I was in the hospital.
It meant a lot that everyone cared to look after my bloggie!

I'm doing well. I had surgery on my back
with a fusion with L4 and L5 with rods and screws added for color!
I was teasing the grandkids that they could
attach magnets to grammy's back now with all the metal that is there!

I am wearing a corset but not the pretty kind
that I wore in my younger days.
Surgeon was quite pleased and I am feeling better. There was a slight complication
which did take me back in the hospital.
Apparently no one told me with this type of surgery
you could possibly have residual pain with the nerves
that had been exposed during surgery
which gave me burning that walking
became a difficult thing to do! Should have realized if there
is even a slight possibility for something strange
to happen my mother said it would happen to me!
But all has been discovered and back on the mend.

A big round of applause along with WOO HOO's as I have the bestest Design Team around
and thanks to everyone that Guest Designed and to my followers.
Thank you and bless you!
Hugs and Love
Lynne

Guest Designer - Sept 22nd

Hi all. Sue here holding down the fort for Lynne <G>. It is my pleasure to bring you these guest designer posts as they are all so WONDERFUL! Today we have Darlene from Two Scrappin Lawyers. Darlene was also a part of my birthday blog hop and I am very happy to share her projects with you all. Here we go....

"Hi there! This is Darlene from Two Scrappin' Lawyers filling in for Lynne who continues to recover. For her surgery guest designers, Lynne suggested either back to school or fall, so I did both! The back to school project is an altered notebook that I made for my 3 year old. Her daycare class said to send in a notebook that could be used for a journal. I used a standard marble notebook and adhered some blue paper (her favorite color). Using Design Studio (which I practically never do), and Once Upon a Princess, I welded the crowns together to spell her name and then formed an arch so it would fit!! Using a combination of Once Upon a Princess and Everyday Paper Dolls, I created the princess. I used Peachy Keen stamps for the face. I used Beads in a Bottle to create the necklace. I have found that Beads in a Bottle works much better than Liquid Pearls, as it does not leave a point but instead gives you a perfectly rounded top.

For my fall project, I created a single page layout. The vines are created using a gypsy cut file found at 217 Creations that I fell in love with the moment I saw it. I used Create a Critter, Everyday Paper Dolls and Paper Doll Dress Up for the various pumpkins around the page. I heat embossed the green vines on the pumpkins, and used glitter for the stems. The background paper I had hanging around. I created a double mat for a 4x6 photo. The cardstock to create the mat is from my stash. The cream cardstock is embossed with leaves and vines."
Darlene, these projects are fantastic and I am so glad you shared them. Thanks for being guest designer today. Everyone, please hop over to Darlene's blog as you will love it. Until next time....

All pages were made with the ABC Primer Line called Bedtime Stories. The red gingham is from Close to My Heart and embellishments are assorted buttons from her stash.

Guest Designer - Sept 17th

Hello Friends!

Welcome! I am Lynne's guest designer today....had trouble with blogger ...so it took a while for me to set up ...sorry...Lynne is still out recovering from her surgery she had on Wednesday and it was a success so continue to pray for her as she continues to recover and get well.

I made a card with a stamp she sent me a while back...she knows I am a big fan of butterflies! so I used one that I love...I used my purple Versa mark ink pad.  But before I get carried away I use a pretty celery cardstock (SU) and then I use a printed paper pattern from one of my DCWV 6x6 stack. I cut out the butterfly and added wires to it to make it look real...hehe...and then I popped dot it to the card and stamped with a sentiment from Verve, then used a pretty organza purple ribbon that I had and then voila! :) Pretty simple but I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by my blog at PurpleFuntastick Creations and give us both some love!

Lynne Outta Commission Guest Designer - Susan Bermudez

Greetings all!

As my dear friend Lynne is in the hospital after surgery, a few of us hijacked errrrr offered to be guest designers on her blog. Lynne, I am praying for a speedy recovery for you cause we miss you!!!! Remember to leave your get well wishes below so Lynne can read them when she returns.

This season is my absolute favorite. Now don't get me wrong. Spring is beautiful with the trees budding and the flowers blooming but Fall to me is such a wonderful season that holds much beauty of it's own. The leaves changing, the crispness in the air, Thanksgiving... they all give me that warm and fuzzy feeling. What also gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling is my kids. Since I have been playing with my digital software I decided to make this layout of my kids. If you have not tried it, My Memories Suite is a great software. I am also working on learning to use another type of software and will post something from their another time. So without further digressing, here is my project....

Melissa, David and Alex Jr really know how to make me smile. They are at their best when they are playing around. The little one in the middle picture is our grandson, Elijah. His Mom, Yaritza was in the digital layout I did of her graduation. We are proud of all our kids and cannot wait to see how Elijah's personality develops.

Thanks Lynne for having me. I appreciate it sew much :)

Until next time....

For the hop today, I've created .......

A card using the Nappen Crow from Creative Kuts from which I am a Design Team Member. The cost for Nappen Crow is $4 and there is quite a collection of crows and turkeys that are a must to check out!!!

The background paper is DCWV Harvest Gathering Stack for the background and my wonderful scrap boxes for the crow, sunflower, and pumpkin. I shaded all my cuts with my Prism colored pencils for texture. The buttons are from my button bins and used the Sew Easy Fancy Floss to tie little knots on them and just glued in place and the little pumpkin ribbon was glued on along with all my little pieces using my Xyron (which I absolutely love and cannot live without as I am cutting my little pieces, I put them right away in the Xyron to avoid losing little pieces!). The ribbon is from Just Enough Ribbon Accents. The little sentiment was stamped using harvest green ink "Chase your dreams you might catch one!" which I thought was purrrfect for the crow nappen'.

I have a gift card for Creative Kuts if you leave not only a comment on my page but also on Creative Kuts blog page.
