Fall Purse Favors

My dear friend, Rosie, has a beautiful niece that is getting married with the shower this coming weekend . . . well, as the story goes there were invitations, thank you's and favors which of course yours truly offered to create. What I'm showing you today is similar to the favors as Julia's shower took a walk on the "wild side" using zebra print papers in aqua and black and white. The invitations we purchased zebra print cards with envelopes and added aqua umbrellas which were cut from New Arrival Cricut Cartridge. Thank-you's were done similar with the zebra print cards with envelopes with the word "Thanks" cut from the Cindy Loo Cricut Cartridge.  Favors were the adorable purses which were cut using Recollection Wild Side Card Stock with Forever Young Cricut Cartridge. WELLLLLLLL . . . . with yours' truly not feeling the best and now in a Nursing Facility, I need to apologize as not getting pictures taken prior to giving the 100 invites, thank-you's and favors to get a chance to show 'em off to you but instead have a favor cut using the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge using a K&Company Fall Embossed paper hoping you will forgive me at this time until I am able to get the other pictures . . . . BUT, on the other hand, have you heard of the Challenge going on at Miriam's Crafting Supplies this month?????? NO????? WELLLLLLLL, this month's challenge is fall and if you check out that cute adorable fall leaf charm on this purse, guess what you have????? You guessed it a fall challenge project!!!! AND, who doesn't need an adorable new purse for the fall or cute little favors OR, as I had made a green leopard one for Lily who absolutely loves her little purse and carried a package of fruit snacks in it around the house and the purse is still in tact!!!!

Recipe;

• purse was cut 4-inches using Forever Young Cricut Cartridge, Purse Favor 2nd from the end with no cut-outs that I could decorate as I wanted using a K&Company Fall double-sided flocked paper
• Darice gold organza ribbon tied in a bow with bronze tone fall leaf charm from Miriam's Crafting Supplies centered on the ribbon which also has a bow on the top of the card 

• the cute fall leaf glitz was from a dear friend which finishes the little purse
• NOW, this little purse may look little but it does hold 25 M&M's in a little tulle bag or as Lily likes, a package of fruit snacks!!!!

Welcome Baby Adam

August 12, 2013, Jenny gave me a beautiful grandson, Adam Michael. At the time, I had been in and out of the hospital due to back issues and didn't get the quilt quite done in time for his arrival but with laying in bed and taking it easy, I was able to finish my gift of love . . . .

Recipe;

• Adam's room is done in nautical and of course Grandma had to create a nautical quilt
• as I've said time and time again - cutting with my Cricut is ever sew similar to quilting --- as my 2nd husband used to say, "cutting big pieces into little pieces and then sewing into big pieces again!!!"
• pattern is an adaptation of a Debbie Mumm with paper-pieced lighthouse and ship with cookie cutter appliqued anchor and ship's wheel
• then the creative juices started to flow and that is the only similarity - I had rope fabric which I used as part of my background and also cut out his name using the rope fabric
• there is a whale mirror on his one wall which I incorporated in the quilt where "Adam's" name is spouting out
• my friend Rosie then gave a marvelous idea where I used nautical flags spelling out his name along the top of the quilt - 
• "A" - Alpha, I have a diver down, keep well clear at slow speed. 
• "D" - Delta, I am maneuvering with difficulty, steer clear
• "M" - Mike, my vessel is stopped, making no way; mark missing (sailing regatta) 
• now, what makes the "M" even more interesting . . . . not only does it stand for Mike but Adam's middle name is Michael
• quilt is machine-quilted with a variegated thread and tiny baby fishes on red background for the back of my quilt
• and no quilt is complete without of course, a label - "Made with Love by Grandma"
• and of course, the proud Grandma holding her new grandson . . .

Whoo, Whoo it's Owl-o-ween

Halloween has always been a favorite of mine - I love to decorate and dress up. When Jen was little, I would make costumes for her, her step-father and myself and we would have old-fashioned Halloween parties with bobbing for apples, tieing donuts on a string and just plain fun with her friends! Those are some wonderful memories I have stored in the back drops of my mind . . . do you have any such memories????

For my card today, I choice an oldie but goodie Create with TLC Owl Sat Watching Printable. I love the sentiment on this and just had to showcase it into a card to share with you today!!!!

Recipe;

• card was cut 6 x 12 inches and then folded in half using DCWV Harvest Gathering
• background was cut using DCWV Spooky Paper Stack which I just loved this piece with it being a plaid with an old-fashioned flair
• sentiment, "An owl sat watching in a tree, Just as wise as he could be, Watching tricksters from door to door run, Trick or Treating and having fun. After watching the entire scene, He said, "Whoo, Woo it's Owl-o-ween" which I chalked around the edges
• Darice 1/4-inch purple satin ribbon runs along the right side of the card with orange pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies centered on the ribbon which also has a bow on the top of the card
• the cute little owl on the orange Recollection Cardstock was made and then fussy cut using one of my Cuttlebug embossing folders
