It's October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I'm sure that many have been touched by this dreaded disease. We need to have Awareness for Mammograms for early detection. SO, with this being said, the talented Design Team and Facebook members of Scrapbook Blessings Club are ready to strut their stuff and show you just how easy it is to use the Tic Tac Toe Board in the SBC FB group as inspiration.  

Here is the card that I did using the diagonal: Pink Ribbon, Charm, and Pink Lace of the Tic Tac Toe Board.

RECIPE:

• file had been a freebie at SVG Cuts which I had done an edit/copy/paste in Make the Cut to create two (2) of the laced portion of my card
• the copy was then "blackout" to fill in the open areas for the inside of card and the piece needed to be welded together
• the laced portion and one of the blackout portion were lined up and welded together to form my card opening top to bottom
• this picture explains my piecings along with my paper color choices which were Recollections Card Stock Black and a Pale Pink

• card is then folded in half
• Darice 1/4-inch satin ribbon was laced in the front with an awareness ribbon charm tied into the bow
• the solid pink corset was then glued to the back of the laced portion of my card AFTER lace was glued to the inside of the top portion of the card
• the accent pieces for the front were embossed with Cuttlebug Paisley and then chalked with a darker pink 
• sentiment, "Beauty Grace . . . courage hope . . . . faith" is from Create with TLC 
• awareness ribbon was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and sentiment was given rounded corners and chalked around the edges

I try to make as many cards during the year for Breast Cancer Awareness as this is a subject that is close to my heart and your sentiment is purrfect!! I was diagnosed 3 years ago with Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia which is a pre-cancer form which affects the area surrounding your milk ducts. Were you aware that the milk duct area does not include JUST your breast but also under your arm? A "scoop" was removed from my right breast and I need to go twice a year for mammograms to ensure that it hasn't spread along with being more pre-cancer cells as compared to cancer cells. Without early detection it could have been a lot worse. I send cards to people that I have heard that have been diagnosed, to friends reminding them to have a mammogram along with “thinking of you” cards during stressful times waiting for results. Guess you could say it has been a personal crusade of mine!!! 

Hopefully this inspires you to remember to get the TaTa's checked when you see pink!!! Early detection is the KEY!!!!! Your next stop is Sandy.

BOOOOO!!!!! Oh Sheet, Its a Ghost Blog Hop!

Boo! Oh didn't mean to scare you but just wanted to have some fun and so do these incredible crafters who have made things that involve ghosts. I hope you will join us today and hop along to see what each person made.

Here are my ghostly creations for this hop...

First is a super easy and quick project - on Create with TLC, she has a super cute little candy wrapper to use either with little sandwich bags or the super cute little treat bags that are sold at Miriam's Crafting Supplies - these are 1 x 10 inches and all you need to add is the Ghost Poop, a pencil, M&M's, Skittles. Just let me add at this point that my hands are killing me along with my back and shoulder and I couldn't fill the bag with the marshmallows and may resort to M&M's or white chocolate chips

Next is another super quick and easy project!!!! The Cuddly ghost I used is from SVG cuts which is a freebie

 but I welded the two of them to have it fold over.

. . . . and this is what the final project looks like with a partially filled cellophane bag from Miriam's Crafting Supplies - ok, I confess, its the same bag from the previous picture ...... but shhhhh don't tell anyone!!!

Also, Create With TLC has had several different styles of ghostly Halloween "soup" can covers as freebies. Here is the Halloween Ghost Grub which is going around a vanilla go-gurt for Lily in her treat bag . . . 

NOW, as my final project, I saw this on the internet and the hardest part is removing the labels from the gallon plastic containers but the end result is phenomenal!!! These are on my front porch and it can vary as to the color of the lights that you use

RECIPE:

• 3 - one gallon plastic containers - these are from the Distilled Water for our Sleep Apnea Machines with the labels removed
• ghostly or pumpkin faces which were cut using black vinyl and my trusty Cricut and Make the Cut 

• holes were cut in the back thanks to Bob with his drill to make a 2-inch hole in the back
• 35 strand of orange lights distributed between the 3 - one gallon containers (purple or green can be used also!!!)
• and VIOLA . . . . my ghostly trio sitting on our front porch!!!

Today You Are You ~ Dr Suess Words of Wisdom

Greetings my friends! Are you ready for our wonderful second challenge for Scrapbook Blessings which I am part of the Design Team and challenging you my friends to participate.

Now onto the next video challenge...Twisted Easel Card. Here's Marilyn's fun video and instructions to follow for the challenge:

For my card, I went with Bugaboo's Cat in the Hat digital design. Isn't he adorable??? 

Recipe:

• Background piece is cut as follows: 4.25 x 9.75 inches and then scored at 5.5 inches which then is folded in half making a triangle. The paper is Recollections Christmas which I purchased after Christmas last year at Michaels for 84 cents!!! What a deal!!
• a red scrap of Recollection card stock was then cut at 4.25 x 5.5 inches
• digital design is by Bugaboo which is the sponsor for this challenge. I used Cat in the Hat Youer Than You. Image was colored using my Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen highlights. I then fussy cut around the image to glue on the 4.25 x 5.5 inch red Recollection cardstock
• ribbon is an Offray Dr. Suess which was wrapped on the card and then a bow added on top of the strip
• sentiment for the card is from Create with TLC, " someone like you should be celebrated every day which was first chalked around the edges and then mounted on red cardstock. Puff dots were used to put on my card with Queen & Co. Pearls/Berry Red
