Dirty Word and for my trying something new - a side step card!!!

NOW, let's talk about this card - it most definitely got a vocabulary lesson and several pieces of chocolate were inhaled in this process!!!!!!!! I followed the tutorial on Splitcoasters to make this edible card!!!

I Like to Catch Brass Rings on the Merry-Go-Round

As I had previously said - what was I thinking - I had purchased Studio G 3 x 3 cards at Michael's for a dollar and thought I would make little cards - - - WELL, that means my image was tiny and I only had a 3 x 3 working space and area to color:

I used to go to church camp in the late 60's and I can remember singing a silly song AND it even had motions: "I Like to Catch Brass Rings on the Merry-Go Round". Strange how an image inspires a song or a memory with me!!!

  • Beccy's Place Carousel Horse with Scallops is a freebie which was colored using Spectrum Noir and Whisper Strokes Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils with gel pen accents, and fussy cut around the edges
  • bunting punch with scraps for the "carousel" and then faux stitched around the edges
  • 1/8-inch Darice ribbon on top and tied in a bow with a button accent which was a scrap piece
  • Miriam's Crafting Supplies Silver Tone Made For You Charm
  • sentiment, "Just Because", had been a previous freebie from Create with TLC and was mounted on scraps which has a lacey finish using Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Border Punch along with a retro lace on top

Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenges has a new challenge with this theme being that of Movie Inspired!!!!

For this challenge, the fabulous sponsors are:

Now, can you guess which movie my card is inspired by??? How bout some hints - a princess lives in the forest with 7 men who work in a diamond mine, she takes a bite of an apple and falls asleep, has a horrible sense of color for her dress (ok, that was my own personal opinion) Have you guessed it yet????

For my project, I had the privilege of playing with Ikes Art, Snow White.  I decided to make a stretch/cascade story card:

RECIPE and SUPPLIES:
  • cascade card using tutorial from My Crafty Life on the Internet
  • cardstock is Bazzill with Recollection Shabby Chic for the background which was embossed using Cuttlebug Flower
  • Snow White was colored using Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils, and Whisper Strokes Markers and gel pen accents which was then fussy-cut around the edges
  • apple, birds, and wishing well were cut using Cricut Disney Happily Ever After

  • google eyes were added to the birds
  • flowers are from my stash
I can't wait to see what your creations are. Don't forget to link your projects for a chance to win from the fabulous sponsors!!!!!
