Stop by and check out these holidays as I am sure you are going to want to remember these holidays and include them in your card making projects!!!!!

We will have blog candy to the lucky recipient that remarks on each site along the way!

Thanks for stopping by and mark your calendar again next month to see what Holidays to Celebrate on April 14th for the next Calendar Girls Blog Hop!

You should have arrived from Laura with National Grammar and Punctuation on March 4th.

My project is commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting! March 12, 2012 is what the Girl Scouts call “Thinking Day” which makes you think and reflect on Girl Scouting. I remember when I was a leader, we would celebrate the day in different ways. One year that I can remember my troup met after school and we wrote our wishes and put them in balloons and blew them up and released our wishes in the air! I loved my years in Girl Scouting not only as a Girl Scout myself but also a Leader when my daughter became a Scout!!!

RECIPE:
  • Treasure Box Designs Treasure Tots Cookie Time
  • Embossing flowers with Cuttlebug
  • I actually found Girl Scout paper that was on a clearance table at Pat Catan’s for only a nickel per sheet --- well, I had to have it all and bought all 8 sheets and thought I could use them to do layouts, yes, I did say that word which normally isn’t in my vocabulary for Sasha now that she is a Daisy Girls Scout
  • Scrap papers

The inside of my card has the “Girl Scout Promise”. Happy 100th Birthday Girls Scouts and thank you Juliet Lowe!!!

My next card is March 17th National Quilting Day. My first love is quilting but due to shattering my left wrist, quilting is much more difficult for me and I have found that paper piecing satisfies that need of mine to be creative!

Thank you Michelle Ferris for being my inspiration for my card. Michelle had sent me a card for my birthday which she had made which was a quilt square. Ok, I may have “scrap-lifted” this card but I really love how this turned out.

RECIPE:
  • Background “fabric” is a piece of paper cut 4 - inches.
  • Triangular pieces are cut from Pretty Posies at 1-inch and then cut in half – I need to have my head examined for playing with all these little pieces
  • Buttons
  • Faux stitching with black gel pen
  • Layer underneath the quilt square is cut at 4.5 – inches from stash
  • Card is a square cut at 5-inches from stash

March 20th is the First Day of Spring which Michelle Ferris has as her project which actually started out to be totally different, but.......
Michelle has a Cinch Machine which she got just before Christmas and this is the 3rd project that she has bound!!!

RECIPE:
  • Almost all of the paper is from Bo Bunny Country garden line.
  • Matching stickers are from the same line.
  • One page is from stash
  • Another is from Paper house Productions - Groovy Baby !
  • Green roses from Recollections
  • Glass bird from stash.
  • Green Pearl, Glitzy Butterfly - Dollar Store,
  • Flags from scraps,
  • Big buttons from 3 girl jam,
  • Bees, hive flowers and honeypot from Jolee,
  • Tiny double-pocket card, yes card! is made from scraps of Bo Bunny
  • Hot glued I-rock gems, buttons from stash,
  • Abstract flower chain punch by EK Success.

Hope you all enjoy my efforts! Happy start of Spring! Speaking for myself, Michelle, I am loving your project - fabulous job!! But then again, you always have this amazing talent!!!

Again, thank you for stopping by today … please leave a comment as Michelle and I would love to hear from you! Your next stop along the calendar is Lisa
