Hoppy Easter

Happy Easter to all my friends out there in “bloggie land”. Today, I’m sharing a totally edible Easter basket. I had gotten the inspiration while watch a episode of Rachel Ray.

  • First I started at the bottom with a package of 6 Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs but placed them upside down for easier access.

  • Next, I got similar size boxes of M&M’s and Jolly Rancher Gummies. Go with everyone’s favorite which is what I did.
  • I used my ATG gun and ran it along the bottom edges and attached to the Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. This formed the sides.

  • Now comes the fun of filling your edible basket which I did with Gummy Bears and my very most favorite Starburst jelly beans.
  • A ribbon was tied around the outside edges just to hold together. Ok, I know I said “totally” edible but you could say the ribbon is added fiber <grinning>

Happy Easter and as an added note, I will be “hopping” down the bunny trail as I broke my left foot and left elbow!!! Coordination isn’t my strong suit!!!!!

God Bless you and thank you ever sew much for stopping by today!
Much love, hugs, and friendship

I used this wonderful paper from Tsunami Rose, VintageClocks B&W along with the super cute addition to my creation, the clock charm from Miriam’s Crafting Supplies

RECIPE:
  • Card was cut 6 x 11 and then scored at 5.5 inches to fold in half using Recollections card stock
  • Vintage Clocks B&W was cut at 5.75 x 5.25 inches and then glued in center of my card
  • Steam Punk stamp is something that I have in my collection and had only used once and wish to sell at this time
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Gear Box and then chalked
  • Clock charm is from Miriam’s Crafting Supplies and attched with a ribbon from my friend Jearise Havenga who had sent it to me in a goodie box!
  • Sentiment is hand-written and centered on the embossed paper
I hope you have enjoyed my card today. If you are interested in the stamp, please let me know!. Check out the paper as it has sew many uses which I decided it was for a note card … what would you use it for???

For my project, I used Basket Buddies, not only as a bunny basket for Lily but also as a "treat bag".

The finished bunny's head measures 2.5-inches. Cheeks and tail were puff-dotted for dimension on both.  Of course, she just needed the eyelashes!

If you notice, I just had to use Action Wobbles on the bunny's head and butt on my basket!!!!!

A bow attached to the bunny's ear completes her ensemble along with bright colored plastic eggs and jelly beans!!!

This was such a fun and super easy project, I will be making the rest of these for my other grandchildren!

Guest Designer - Vicky Fortier

I am ever sew fortunate to have met my beautiful Guest Designer for today, the very beautiful and talented Vicky Fortier who arose and met the challenge for this month's theme!!!!! Without further chatter and rambling from me, let me introduce Vicky . . .

I'm an accountant working full time and a mother of 4 great kids.  I have an amazing husband who understand that in order to keep my sanity through all this I need to craft ;) I live in Quebec, Canada, so I also do some crafting with French sayings.

I have been crafting over 22 years and tried my hands at all kinds of techniques over the years.  I have started blogging in March of 2012 in order to join challenges (actually I have some candy to celebrate that anniversary: http://crafting-vicky.blogspot.ca/2013/03/candy-for-celebrating-my-1st-year-of.html).  I became totally hooked!!!!  I can't believe this world existed and I only found out about it then.  I see blogging as a wonderful opportunity to improve my card making abilities.

Through this process I met some fabulous people, there are so many wonderful artists.  I can’t believe the chance I have of being able to be on some fabulous team.  Never would have dreamed last year that I could be part of some DTs!

I'm in awe of all the wonderful blogs that I see and I hope that one day my blog will be up to that level.

For my card I played with a wonderful digi from San’s Design that you can find here:http://shop.sansdesign.se/product_info.php?products_id=83&osCsid=iqmui4s1bpbplo1bnhkusuakp5 and it’s only 1$$$$  how fabulous right.  The sentiment that I used is one of the freebies right now.

I thought this image was just perfect for the theme of Green, Orange and yellow.  Hope you have liked this little card.  For more details on how I made this please visit my blog.

What a super cute project my friend and I thank you for being my Guest Designer this week!!!!!!! Please, be sure to stop and give Vicky some bloggie love!!!!

Much love, hugs, and friendship

Tutorial Thursday Pop-Up Birthday Card with The Stamping Chef

Welcome to The Stamping Chef  Tutorial aka Recipe Thursday. What says birthday more than a cutie popping outta a cake??? Today, I will be showing you how to make this cute birthday card or how to create any simple pop-up card. I know that I have been missing in action lately due to medical reasons but I've got my mojo back and let the creativity begin . . . .

IMG_0816

I guess I should start at the beginning and show you step-by-step how I created my card. I colored "Babydoll" which is this Friday's Freebie. Isn't she a doll baby and you get to see her here first!!! She was colored using my Spectrum Noir Markers, Prisma Colored Pencils, and Gel Pens, Her shoes were accented with Glossy Accents by Inkssentials.

  IMG_0801

Using Make the Cut, I created a cake card, candle, and banner for Babydoll to hold to scream "SURPRISE"! The cake card was created by using the "blackout" feature and welded them together to create a card.

  Birthday Cake Pop Up Card

I then cut out my pieces, chalked the edges, and got ready for the assembly along with creating the "stand" for Babydoll to be placed on that she "pops up" when the card is open

 IMG_0800      IMG_0811

The center of the card is then found with marks 1/2-inch on either side of the
center. You need to cut into the top part of the card on both of these marks

1-inch into the card

IMG_0804

Fold card again in half pushing the cut section to the inside. Open up. This creates the little box for Babydoll to stand on.

IMG_0807
    IMG_0808

Since, I "fussy" cut Babydoll out, I needed a more substantial base for her to stand on and cut an additional 1-inch piece and center-glued on her stand

IMG_0810

Now, comes the fun parts - decorating and embellishing . . . I glued the blackout card to the front of my card along with the icings. This covers the cut part on the front of the card. Pearls from Miriam's Crafting Supplies were glued to the scallops to create the decorative frosting. Now, here's my little secret and I trust you won't tell anyone - the roses from Recollections Embellishments were put on the bottom to cover my little Babydoll's head when my card is folded in half. Now, remember, its our secret!!!

IMG_0812

The card is even able to stand on its own when slightly opened for display purposes. Babydoll now got all "dolled" up with a fine gathered lace for her skirt, rhinestones for the waistband and a bow on the side. Her shoes got pearls in the center. The candle was glued behind her.

IMG_0813

I want to show how she is attached with a side-view now. You want to make sure she is secure. I used Glue Dots which bond instantly and they are super-strength!!!!!!

IMG_0815

A sentiment is added and VIOLA ... you have a cute birthday card with a girl popping outta the cake!!!

               IMG_0814      IMG_0816

I hope you enjoyed my project for today and don't forget to stop by The Stamping Chef tomorrow to see what the Sous Chefs have cooked up for you!!!! ALSO, Freebie Friday at the store where you too can own Babydoll. We would love to see your projects on TSC Recipes!!!

God Bless and Thank you for stopping by to visit!!!

Happy Birthday Jennifer

Jennifer, my beautiful daughter, had a wonderful gift for her birthday last year – the birth of her daughter!!!! Lily was born on the 5th of March and my beautiful daughter, Jennifer, was born on the 9th of March. Granted, she was due on February 29th as it was a Leap Year, and she just stalled around and was born n the 9th of March!!!!! Little bit of info, my sister, Beth, whose birthday is the 11th of March, was turning 16 that year and me being the ungrateful person that I am went into labor instead of having a Sweet 16 Party for my sister!!!!

For my card for my daughter, I made a dimensional Unicorn card using Treasure Box Designs Love is Colorful paper piecing file!!!!

RECIPE:
  • Unicorn from Treasure Box Designs Love is Colorful
  • Unicorn was welded together to form the background along with the back of my card
  • Unicorn was then cut into individual pieces using my scraps including silver prism paper for the horn
  • Pieces were chalked around the edges and then glued on the top layer with the exception of the snout which was puff-dotted to add dimension
  • Hole was made in the one ear where I attached a crown brad (my daughter has always proclaimed herself a “Princess” but now that role is her daughter, Lily
  • Label was cut using Lacey Labels Cricut Cartridge and inked around the edges
  • Inside sentiment was hand-written
  • Roses from Michael's were added on mane and on the sentiment
  • Card can be considered a slider or it is able to open partly and stand on its own!!!

Hope you enjoyed my daughter’s birthday card!!!!!!!!

God Bless and Thank you for stopping by today!
Much love, hugs, and friendship
