Miriam's Crafting Supplies Meets with Tsunami Rose to Create an Accordion Style Mini-Album

It’s Lynne here showing you how to make an accordion fold spine album. . . I know it sounds like a mouth-full but I got inspired from Splitcoaster’s Tutorial and then ran with scissors and created from there.

First, I want to show you my finished pages and let you drool.

Now, onto the Recipe:
  • Paper cut two (2) pieces of cardstock 6 x 6 inches scoring every inch

  • Fold along score lines being careful that edges are straight with mountains and valleys – this is your spine of your mini album/journal
  • Pages are cut 11 x 6 scoring at 5.5 inches – these are your pages
  • Fold pages in half gluing bottom and side leaving one 5.5 inch side open – these are your pockets for treasures

  • Select one page to be your cover and center 3 (three) ribbons measuring 2-inches long on your first page
  • Cover pages is glued to the first fold with fold being on top of cover – this will get covered with your decorative paper and/or cardstock which is cut 5.5 x 6 inches

  • Decorate cover page – I used Printable Journal Kit Tsunami Rose Parisian Daydream Printable Journal Kit  (the Eiffel Tower “stamps” were from my stash) and the coins, title, and Roses were from the journal kit
  • Background paper is Recollections Fashionably Chic
  • Ribbon is from JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts
  • Rose is Recollections Floral Embellishments
  • All edges were chalked
  • The next page is embossed with Tim Holtz for Sizzix Sewing and Measuring Tape Set (an early Christmas gift from my good friend, Jearise Havenga) on DCWV Lady Couture Stack and then chalked with distress chalks

  • Tags, roses, and coins were fussy-cut, chalked and placed with a charm needle threaded with satin ribbon
  • Background paper is Recollections Fashionably Chic with stamping using Close to My Heart Tailor Made

  • Vintage Lady is from Far Far Away Hill
  • Roses and scissor charm are from my stash
  • Ribbon is Darice So Trendy Satin Edged Organza
  • Pages are then glued into accordion folds with edges covered with ribbon
  • Background paper is Recollections Fashionably Chic with ivory Recollection Card Stock embossed using Tim Holtz for Sizzix Sewing and Measuring Tape Set which was then chalked with Distress

  • Tag and Tickets are from Tsunami Rose Life Alboom Printable Journal
  • Stickpin was made using heart-shaped pearl stick pin, antique bronze-toned wing spacer from Miriam's Crafting Supplies and ribbon threaded back and forth to create a rosette after a bead from my stash

  • Acrylic Crystal from Miriam's Crafting Supplies was tied onto a a ticket using Darice So Trendy Satin Edged Organza Ribbon

  • Vintage lady along with sentiment, "A truly beautiful woman has at least one unique character flaw" are from Create with TLC
  • Vintage lady was colored using Spectrum Noir Makers, Prisma Colored Pencils and gel pens
  • Various pearls in size and color from Miriam's Crafting Supplies were statically placed on sentiment and Vintage lady's hat
  • Celebrate It Brontanica Ribbon was glued to seal the edges
  • This is a work in progress . . . more to follow at a later time!
