Your next stop along the way is . Don't forget to stop back next
month on December 14th for the last Calendar Girls Day of the Year . . . .
For my Holidaze/Occasions, I chose several but was only able to complete a few of them due to Physical Therapy, my friend was in the hospital, doctor appointments for both of us, and my surgery is going to be scheduled sooner than later!!!
Let the party begin . . . .
November is National Aviation Month which I'm very proud to say that my father was in the Air Corp and flew in a B29. This occasion means a great deal to me and my card is dedicated to my dad . . .
- card was cut 5.5 x 11 using a lilac Recollection Card Stock and then folded in half
- scrap paper background was cut 5.25 x 5.25 inches
- antique aircraft is scraps from Tsunami Rose Printable Vintage Airplanes Paper, which I was unable to find in her store and not sure if she still carries it - the pieces are cut and arranged and chalked around the edges
- the beautiful vintage "postcard" is Create with TLC Travel Collages which was colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and chalked
- bling was found at JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts in the Clearance Section- Studio G
- sentiment, "Sometimes your only available transportation is a leap of faith" is also from Create with TLC
November is also National Model Railroad Month. This also has a lot of fond memories as my daddy loved to play with trains and I have many memories of him and his dad, then my brother (Wayne) and Daddy and then to complete the generation my Daddy, Wayne and Wayne's son, Wayne. Also, when I was born, my Pap, bought a tin Lionel train for my first Christmas, which I still have in my possession.
RECIPE:
- card was cut 6 x 11 and then folded in half using a Recollection Christmas card stock which was purchased after Christmas last year
- digital design is from Create with TLC Christmas, Get to be a Kid which reminds me of all those generations playing with trains; this was colored with Prisma Color Pencils with chalked background and edges
- sentiment, Christmas is a family affair, is also from Create with TLC which was from her recent Winter Collection and I thought this was the purrfect sentiment!!!
- ribbon is a red check which was wrapped around the card and completed with a little bow from my stash of ribbon
November 19th is Have a Bad Day Day . . . what first came to mind is the cartoon with the character that always has a black cloud over his head and viola, I created this using Make the Cut
RECIPE:
- card was made using Make the Cut and welding two (2) clouds together for the card using grey Recollection card stock which were inked around the edges
- another cloud was made with edit - copy - paste in place and then downsized just a bit with scrap grey card stock which was also chalked around the edges
- bolt of lightening was created using Make the Cut and chalked around the edges, glued to the back of the smaller cloud
- smaller cloud was attached to the front of the card using a wobble just to add that special dimension and show "bad day"
- inside of the card has a sun with a grey cloud, also created using Make the Cut and chalked around the edges - grey cloud was puff-dotted onto card
- sentiment, You sure BRIGHTENED UP my day", on the inside of the card is a Create with TLC
November 21st is World Hello Day --- WELLLLL, when I think of "hello" all I can think of those stupid name tags people give us to wear sew everyone knows our name . . . . well, I created one using Make the Cut
RECIPE:
- with Make the Cut, I made a 6 x 3 inch oval and then did a copy, edit, paste in place
- with the copy, I welded the two together to make my card using white Recollection card stock
- I then did another paste in place making to make the blue border by adding another paste-in-place and downsizing to give about a 1/2-inch border using blue Recollection card stock - the inside of the oval became the back of my "hello"
- using whatever font you wish, create the word "HELLO" and do a mirror of the word on the top portion of the card that when it is folded down, it appears correctly
- select the white card with the word "HELLO" centered on the top and do an edit - join to have the letters cut out
- the inside of the oval that is the blue gets glued behind the word "HELLO"
I'm hoping you enjoyed my creativity this month and don't forget to leave some "bloggie" love. Also, I know that I owe you a few more cards and expect to see later this month: Button Day, Homemade Bread Day and Pins and Needles Day. Your next stop along the way is the super beautiful and talented Vicky.
Mark your calendars for next month Calendar Girls on December 14th.
Much love, hugs, and friendship
