We're Off to See the Wizard - Revisited

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare especially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octaves highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! It’s the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

For Blog Candy we have a 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper by Paper House Productions

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from <insert previous blog>. If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of the travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop -

For my project today, I have a quilt top that I has yet to be quilted. This quilt is mammoth and is 108 x 110-inches!! My one supervisor had loved the Wizard of Oz and as soon as this is quilted, this quilt is for her!!!!

Patches just had to get in on one of the pictures!!!

And, since I'm such a slacker --- here is a card that I had made for her birthday and wanted to share with you ... just be kind as this is one of my first projects!!!!

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to Jamie and a place beyond the rainbow -

Our complete line-up in case you get lost along the way due to those darn flying monkeys:

Lucky Me with Laura Davidson as my Guest Designer

How lucky am I to have for my Guest Designer Laura Davidson who not only is my fabulous Guest Designer but also my dear friend Susan and I get to show you both of her phenomenal projects!!!!!

Today I am guest designing for both of these talented ladies... Susan needed a fill in and I was already working on this layout of my Mom and my youngest daughter so I knew it would fit right in...
Lynne's asked me to work with red, blue, white and pink and a Mother's day theme..or a Memorial Day theme.. but since i live in Canada I thought Mother's Day...

For Lynne, I made 3 little note cards (one more is on the go but I ran out of that pretty blue paper) and a holder which I have decided which one to make as I made the shapes all different.. I thought this would be a great little gift for a Mom or anyone else for that matter....

And for Susana's spot I did a layout of a pic of my Mom and my youngest daughter at her Christening. This was 19 years ago so as you can see I am working doing my layouts all over the place. I found this pic and had just the right paper for it... All elements on this layout are from Tara's May Kit (there are a few left so check them out!!!) Up The Street has the kits and you just have to see how pretty they are.... Tara's kits come in two sides but both sides go together very nicely.

This layout was partially destroyed by my dog but lucky for her (and the cat that knocked it down) she only chewed the bottom right hand corner of the photo and the flowers and brad that were
there. I was very upset and she manages to wreck 4 other layouts.. 3 of which I totally had to redo.

I really love this pic of my Mom and Emily...

Thank you ever sew much for sharing with us today Laura. Your projects are just sew great!!!!!

God Bless and thank you for stopping by today as I have enjoyed your company! Be sure to stop on over and give Laura some bloggie love!!

Rain Gear Weather Bear - Scrapping with Lisa's Designs

Welcome to Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Design Team displaying Lisa's Weather Bear files, http://www.scrappingwithlisadesigns.com/category_13/Weather-Bear.htm, which is available in her store. Today, the complete Design Team will showcase either Rain Gear bear or Winter Clothes Bear in various ways to show the versatility of this file.

My project was using Rain Gear Bear but I gave you two for the price of one!!! For your private viewing, Fred Abear and Beary Manilow are doing a one-time performance of Gene Kelly's "Singin' in the Rain" none the less on Broadway. Can you did it.... Fred Abear is swinging on the lamp post while Beary Manilow is doing an old soft-shoe. I used glossy accents on their rain slickers, hat, and boots to give that feeling of vinyl or leather. Of course, their hats are at a jaunty angle with of course their umbrellas just "Singin' in the Rain"! The lettering was done through Make the Cut and I just love adding a shadow around my lettering. My background paper is a  DCWV Mainstreet Stack.

I wouldn't want you to get lost along with way of the seasons, sew here is the complete line-up with both teams combined just in case you get caught in stormy weather.

Lucky Lucky Me -- My Friend Kimberly Pate is my Guest Designer

I am ever sew fortunate to have my buddy and facebook crafting chat buddy as my Guest Designer!!!! You have to check out how talented she is and I'm sure she is gonna WOW you away!!!!!

Today I have the honor of being the guest designer for my dear friend Lynne over at HerCraftiness.  I am so excited to share this cute card I made.   I am always looking for new and fun ideas to incorporate into my cards, and one day last week I found this great free svg file.  (I just wish I could remember where I found it). It took several attempts of cutting out this frame before I finally got it.  I am using a well used cricut mat so I had problems with the mat ripping in places it was not supposed to cut.  Such is life right? Once I got the mat cut, I glued it to the card stock card (6 x 6) and added the blue gems. This alone would have made a beautiful card, however, I wanted to add Ellie, this cute elephant.  Ellie is a paper piecing from Paper Piecings by Nikki.  You can find her web site here. Ellie is the elephant from the So Junglicious Pattern set.  What I love about paper piecing, as the designer, you can do so many different things with the pattern. It is all up to your imagination.  For instance, I did not want to glue on all her little toe nails, so I used a gel pen and colored them on.  I really think they they would look awesome when using some smooch. I hope you like Ellie, I think she turned out so cute.  I chose the elephant from this set because Elephants never forget, and she signify that I will never forget my friend Lynne. Here is Ellie . . .

Thanks Lynne for having me as your guest designer.

I thank you Kimberly for not only being my Guest Designer today but also, for being my dear friend and helping to keep all those stupid balls in the air!

Thanks for stopping by today my friends --- God Bless You

Happy Birthday Lisa and Becky Blog Hop

This hop is dedicated to Lisa Peters and her daughter Becky who are lucky to share a birthday!!! How awesome is that to share a birthday as a mother and daughter which is what we are celebrating today!!!! If you remember, Lisa became a first-time grandma this year and Becky is the mother of Maxwell .... Let's Celebrate!!!!! Bring on the cake!!! Watch out for the candles!!!! Let's have some balloons and not forget the confetti!!!!

You ask for prizes, well, you're just in lucky as Lisa is also the proud owner of Scrapping with Lisa's Designs and is offering $25 in FREE files!!! Woo hoo!!!! To qualify for the prize, you must stop and visit all the stops along the way and remark! Don't forget to wish Lisa and Becky a Happy Birthday too!!!

I'm sooo glad you were able to stop by and visit but I don't want you to miss a single party along the way!!!! The hop begins with Lisa. If you have arrived from Lisa then let the party begin here!!!!

I made cards for both Lisa and Becky.

For Lisa, I used the pansy from Scrapping with Lisa's Designs Flower Garden and cut it out of white cardstock and inked the edges in purple. The yellow center of my pansy is yellow bling! Now, for those of you who know me, I don't do flowers and I'm not much of a bling person but look, you are getting both!!! I chose the pansy as a pansy is a sign of friendship! The ribbon is from a dollar bin at Michael's with the dragonflies.

For Becky, Lisa told me that Becky loves Tim Burton which I chose "Jack" from Nightmare" where he is on cupcake paper with a purple gothic print, polka dot ribbon with bow. Jack has a "bubble" offering .... which Becky will see on the inside!!!

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot - I made Lisa a purple cross using my embroidery machine!!!!

In case with all the candles, balloons, and streamers, here is the entire line-up as I don't want you to get lost along the way!!!

Happy Birthday to Lisa and Becky Blog Hop Lineup:

Guest Designer for Kari at Purplefuntastic Creations

Today, I’m a Guest Designer for Kari at PurplefuntasticCreations. Her theme is anything goes … you better watch when you give me “free reins” LOL!!! Well, my dear friend Kimberly is on Tsunami Rose Design Team and challenged me to try one of Tsunami Rose’s sketches. Well, it went from there and I went with May Sketch #16.

The paper I used was from my Couture’ DCWV but had cut the bottom of the paper off with all the mannequins. Found a cute vintage digi on the internet and loved the hat with fur which I colored (practiced) with Spectrum markers. The ribbon is a gorgeous butterfly ribbon which was purchased from Michaels. The lace is a cluny which was on the bottom. I added a little bling bling on the top with the 3 rhinestones.

Here is the sketch that I had tried to duplicate:

Here is my project --- tell me what you think . . .

Enjoy the hop!

If you've arrived from Beth, then you are in the right place!!  If you've just popped in to visit my blog or are reading this via email please go to Rachelle's blog and start at the beginning...

To celebrate Whitney's birthday I created........ a birthday card purrfect for a 16 year old that loves Skittles!!! I found a skittles jpg and made my own paper which was cut a bit smaller to fit on my lime green background. The “16” and shadow were created in Make the Cut. Ribbon and bow are from my “collection” drawer!!!

Whitney also loves God and I wanted to use my embroidery machine to make her a cross that is a dark purple but looks darker right now as it is not quite dry from dampening to remove the water soluble stabilizer.

Now you are on your way to the next party stop to see Angie’s card!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Birthday Whitney! Here is the complete line-up in case you get lost with all the streamers and balloons!!!
