I Love Lucy Blog Hop

If you here for Scrapping with Lisa's THE BIRDS, click here . . . but while you're here, why don't you stay and sit a spell longer and check out our I Love Lucy Blog Hop . . .

Welcome to the zany antics of our favorite red-head, Lucille Ball. Let's sit back in front our 13-inch black and white set complete with rabbit ears!!! I Love Lucy Show stared Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz (Ricky Ricardo), Vivian Vance (Ethel Mertz), and William Frawley (Fred Murtz). The black and white series originally ran from October 15, 1951 to May 6, 1957 on CBS which had won five (5) Emmy Awards along with several nominations!!! In 2002, it ranked second on TV Guide's list of television's greatest shows!

When I think of the shows there are several that come to mind - when Lucy and Ethel got jobs for a day and worked in the candy factory or there was Lucy doing the commercial for Vitaminagin (and its tasty too!)

We are paying homage to the antics of our favorite red-head and recalling some of our favorite episodes!!! Sit back, adjust the rabbit ears and . . . If you're just visiting my station today, don't get me wrong as I always love visitors but I wouldn't want you to miss a single episode and would want you to start at the beginning of our season with Lynne at http://slasewcraftiness.blogspot.com/. I’m glad you came to visit cause that means the rabbit ears are adjusted correctly . . .

My episode of I Love Lucy is actually in her earlier days, Lucille Ball was a glamour pin-up girl!!!!!! Amazing. I always remember her in front of the mirror primping getting ready to go out with Ricky and the Mertz's! For you, I have made is a "swing" card.

  • cut card using Heritage at 8.25-inches using DCWV Mariposa copper color paper
  • background of card was the Heritage minus the scallop opening using Grey Pearlescent paper
  • back part of card is black Recollections
  • cut fancy white label to put sentiment at 3.25-inches from the Cricut American Alphabet which is built-in with my E2 with white pearls added to the swirls
  • sentiment is "Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much" was used as Lucille Ball always made people laugh and I feel that she lived life to the fullest. There were red pearls added to the swirls on the sentiment
  • two (2) copper brads are in the upper corners
  • bow at top is a beautiful sheer that is a blue, and brown Darice So Trendy ribbon
  • digital image is a Sherri Baldy called Lipstick which was colored with my colored pencils
  • silver pearls were added to her mirror along with red and yellow pearls to the flowers
  • glossy accents was added to her lipstick and her red lips
  • rhinestone added for her "huge" rock on her hand
Oh, yes, I did mention she started as a pin-up --- just wanted to share this earlier picture of Lucille Ball . . .

and before you go to your next episode . . .

Your next episode is our lovely and very talented Miss Kimberly to get Lucy off the ledge when she thought she would be Superman for Little Ricky or that time Lucy and Ethel bought the freezer and got locked in there or . . . OK, you get the idea......

God Bless and thank you for stopping by
