Faith Verse Christmas Blog Hop - November 30, 2011

Hello Friends!

Welcome to my blog! Today we are here to give God the Glory for what is the real reason of the Season with our favorite verse for Christmas that means so much to us...please read and enjoy the creations these wonderful ladies did on their blog.  Now lets get this party started!

If you came from Kari then you are in the right place if you happened upon my blog then start at Kari's at PurpleFuntastick Creations...as I wouldn't want you missing a thing!

We have a prize to give away that all you must do is comment on every blog along the way...easy peasy! :)

My verse for today's blog is: Luke 2:8-14

And suddenly there was with the angel
a multitude of the heavenly host
praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace,
good will toward men.

Now, for me, I remember this verse as a child watching this with my brother and later with my other brother and sister as this very classic Christmas program. Now, for a little history, "A Charlie Brown Christmas is the first prime-time animated TV special based upon the comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was produced and directed by former Warner Brothers and UPA animator, Bill Melendez, who also supplied the voice for the character of Snoopy. Initially, sponsored by Coca-Cola, the special debuted on CBS in 1965, and has been aired during the Christmas season every year since on CBS through 2000, and on ABC since 2001. Long an annual telecast, the special is now shown at least twice during the weeks leading up to Christmas. The Special has been honored with both an Emmy and Peabody Award. Since its original air-date, the Special has become a classic to watch during the Christmas season."  "Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism that he sees everywhere during the Christmas season even with his dog! Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant, and Charlie Brown accepts, but it proves to be a frustrating struggle. When an attempt to restore the proper spirit with a forlorn little fir Christmas tree fails, Charlie Brown needs Linus' help to learn what the real meaning of Christmas is."

With this in mind, I found some Charlie Brown coloring pages on the internet and varied the sizes to get not only the front of my card; but also the inside which were colored with my Prisma coloring pencils along with shading!!! I cut out the shapes and attached them with puff dots to make them stand out a bit! I even drew my poor little forlorn tree for the front!

I used the quote from Linus in the show to be featured on the inside as this is what Christmas is

as the whole gang is singing on the opposite side! There is some glitter for the star on top of the tree with just a little love it is now a full tree!!!

The outside edge of my card, I used my Martha Stewart Holly punch as it just screamed it needed pizzazz!

Just to bring back all those warm fuzzies of our childhood:

A Charlie Brown Christmas - Linus tells the story

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have been inspired and remember the important reason for the season! :)

Your next stop is my dear buddy and partner in crime, Susan!

God Bless
Hugs and Love
